Hi all.

Well, I'm not tony, but I can say 1.51 was a DEFINITE pain in the neck
because I couldn't even get the program to open, let alone run at all.
So that's why I went back to 1.50. Version 1.50 runs just FINE for me.
Just my 2 cents.

One problem is that 1.50 has a bug when converting audio with normalised

that 1.51 is a pain in the neck?

Which version of CDex is the most stable? I am running Windows98 SE with

Re: yahoo sports

2004-09-16 Thread Gordon and Kimberly
Hey there. I'm still waiting on them to do something about that. There is
a way around it, well, kind of around it.
If you can get someone with some good eyes to get the volume where you want
it, then, just leave that window open. I mean leave the player window open.
There are more links now in that window. You can click on the link for a
school, and then at the bottom, you can click on the desired broadcast, and
as long as you are in the player window when you click on it, it will
remember your volume setting, but if you click from the other yahoo window,
it starts over for some reason.
I have a little eight year old girl who helps me with the volume, and she
doesn't mind if I have to use her help a couple of times.
Good luck to you with that, and maybe they will get their stuff straightened
out.

In Jesus,

audition batch converter puzzle

2004-09-16 Thread russell Bourgoin
Hi listers,
I recently converted a batch of .wav files into .mp3 files in
audition. I changed the wave files into mp3's with a bit rate of 160 and
44.1 killohertz sterio. When I checked in win amp while trying out one of
theese files, I checked with alt 3 and there it says that the file is
joined sterio. I hope that's clear enough for a guru to tell me how to
change it to true sterio. Thanks in advance for ideas.

important, xm radio information

2004-09-16 Thread Charles Adkins
This is some information I thought all of you who have XM could use.

NEW YORK - XM Satellite Radio Holdings will soon begin broadcasting some of its
stations
to subscribers over the Internet, fresh on the heels of the company's discontinuation
of a receiver for PCs that some users used to circumvent the music industry's crackdown
on illegal file sharing.
Starting in early October, XM will charge $7.99 for a subscription to listen to its
68 commercial-free music stations and about a half dozen other XM stations on the
Internet, the company said Wednesday. Those who already subscribe to XM's satellite
service, typically at $9.99 a month, can sign up for XM Radio Online for an extra
$3.99 a month.
Software currently on the market allows users to record music from Internet radio
stations onto their computers anonymously - circumventing the music industry's
much-publicized
crackdown on piracy. But XM said it is discouraging subscribers from doing so.
"We don't condone that type of activity, and in fact that can theoretically constitute
a violation of the user agreement of our service," said XM spokesman Chance Patterson.
A program called TimeTrax fueled a surge in demand for XM's PCR receiver, a PC-based
satellite-radio receiver that went on sale about a year and a half ago. Using the
PCR and TimeTrax, users can record multiple XM stations at once and store the
programming
as individual songs in MP3 or WAV formats.
But the PCR was discontinued recently as XM prepared to launch XM Radio Online.
"The PCR had been on the market for more than a year and a half, and so that's sort
of the typical life cycle anyway of some of these consumer electronic products anyway,"
said Patterson.
Some satellite radio insiders believe the PCR created a big buzz among those looking
to copy tunes because the sound quality of music from satellite broadcasts is much
higher than music streamed over the Internet.
Still, analysts believe the chance to listen to about 70 music channels and about
a half dozen other XM stations online could push more customers toward XM, which
has more than 2.1 million subscribers.
"There are a lot of people who listen to radio during the workday and this is a way
to reach those types of consumers," said April Horace, an analyst with Janco Partners.
"XM has already built a good brand. So for people who want the same content online,
it makes a lot of sense," said Michelle Abraham, an analyst with In-Stat/MDR.
"Especially
with more broadband connections and new devices that let you take the content from
your PC to your entertainment center and play it through your home stereo system."
XM is promoting the new service through a partnership with Dell, offering buyers
of Dell Inspiron notebooks and Dimension desktops a 30-day trial subscription to
XM.
XM's competition, New York-based Sirius Satellite Radio, doesn't offer an Internet-only
subscription, but does lets subscribers listen to its 65 music stations on the Internet
at no extra charge, and offers 72-hour free trials on the Net.
"It's been a significant reason why people have come to our service," said Sirius
spokesman Ron Rodrigues.
XM shares rose 30 cents to $29.46 on the Nasdaq Stock Market, where Sirius shares
fell 1 cent to $2.89.

Re: yahoo sports

2004-09-16 Thread Charles Adkins
Tim, this is my latest response from them. I find it very interesting. It
sounds like they would just assume let me drop their sports. What do you
thinkChuck

Hello,
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Sports.
Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care. It is our goal to reply
to game-day college broadcast inquiries in a timely fashion on game
days. We regret these delayed replies from inquires originated on Sept.
11-13.
The following is a summary of troubleshooting suggestions. If the
answer to your question is not found in this email, please reply so we
may assist you further.
- Please confirm that you have configured IE properly. This includes
deleting your cache, which can be a cause of being prompted to sign up
even after you have registered:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sports/broadcast/broadcast-14.html
- IE is the required browser for this service. The rest of the system
requirements may be found at the following URL:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sports/broadcast/broadcast-35.html
- The college broadcast system check will help you configure your
system. You may access the check at the following URL:
http://sports.yahoo.com/s/gamechannelnojs
If you have already completed the system check but continue to
experience problems, please consider the following:
- Launch Windows Media Player and select 'Tools' then 'Options.'
- Click the 'Network' tab.
- Make sure that TCP, UDP and HTTP protocols are enabled.
If this does not resolve the problem, you may need to contact your
system administrator to determine if streaming on UDP or HTTP is
disabled through a proxy configuration.
If you find that your system does not meet the minimum requirements or
you have exhausted all troubleshooting steps on the help page without
resolution, you may cancel your account from the following URL:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sports/broadcast/broadcast-07.html
Again -- we apologize for the delay in responses from games of Sept. 11
- 13.

seems to have changed to the point where its no longer accessible. If
you should decide to purchase this program and need help with it, let me

well you don't need to switch to soundboard recording at all, as long as you
are recording from the web, then software recording is the radio button you
want checked in the recording source and parameters.

he's not having a problem, he just can't do what he's asking. tr is
perfectly useable and very cheap, and multifunctional.
one annoyance that I get on a random basis is that sometimes i won't be able
to hear jaws when i'm recording a stream, this comes and goes, but it's
manageable.

Sounds like a canned reply. I suspect that not a lot of people have pointed
out this problem to them or else they don't realize that a lot of us can't
even access the volume slider. It really is a SP2 problem and rolling back
to SP1 will cause the volume to be set at a more normal level.

Re: nero ditgal cds

2004-09-16 Thread mimi
If you do not have an mp3 option in your
regular CD player, you better use the
Audio CD format in Nero that will play
in your machine. Unless you have a
boombox or portable with the built-in
mp3 reader, or of course, your computer
also reads mp3 discs made by Nero.

Re: Pitches

2004-09-16 Thread Jay Williams

The A above middle C is a frequency of 440hz. You can calculate any other
pitch by applying multiples of 1.0594631 (1.06 is, of course a pretty good
approximation.) Thus the C above that A is 523.3 and middle C is 26o1.5.
That 1.0594631 is the 12th root of 2 and that's used because our system
divides the octave, a ratio of 2 to 1, into 12 equal parts. In order for
those equal parts to be in fact equidistant, you must use a logarithmic
rather than an arithmetic division.
