I think it is a good program once you get the hang of it. It records direct to MP3 and edits MP3s without converting them so there is no loss of quality. A problem could be that the output of one device could bleed into the other device. I've tried downloading it, but haven't used it yet. I use Soundforge, and like it, but I think Harry said that it's faster than Soundforge. Maybe he can tell you more about it. I don't know if that would have Noise Reduction like Soundforge, or the pitch shift. I hope this helps. I was told by one of our electronics stores that connecting two stereo units to one stereo set of headphones with a simple Y-adaptor is not feasible. I couldn't say why, and I do not know how true this information is. Well, I'm assuming that a car kit is actually a cassette with a wire hanging out the back end of it, with an 8th inch jack on the end of the wire. The general purpose is for hooking the xm radio up to the car's casette player. However, you can put this thing into any kind of casette player if you want. For a time, I was using this "car kit" to make one of my double deck boom boxes become speakers for my computer. Plus, it would allow me to record stuff off my pc onto cassette. Re: nero 5.5 compatibility question
Hi Eamonn. Generally speaking, when you get this error from Nero it's a sure sign that you need to go to their website and download the latest version which will have support for all the latest burners. What's strange here is that you've uninstalled an earlier version? and, presumably, you've used the earlier version of Nero to burn discs successfully? Anyway, I'd suggest you check out the Nero website for the latest 5.5 release. Incidentally, I've recently bought a dimension 4700 machine and tried to install Nero with the same incompatibility error. I've now upgraded to version 6.3 as even the latest 5.5 release didn't recognise my DVD burner. The new XM portable is called Myfi. They're planning to sell the whole package including home kit, car kit, headphones, rechargeable battery, etc. for $349. I don't know what you'd do if you just want the receiver. Guess they prefer to sell it as a whole package with stuff we don't need. What'd a blind person need with a car kit anyway when they don't have a driver in the household? Or don't know anyone who drives. Hi Tom, I'm listening to it now. I think I've finally learned how to move around in the XM player. It takes some getting to know the screen, but it is doable. I used my FM transmitter, and transmitted it to my stereo! It sounded really good! As a matter of fact, I'm listening to XM online as I type this message. The only thing I'ved noticed is that it cuts in and out. It's not too bad though. It's worth it just to be able to listen to constant folk music! Hope this helps. I've been using Sound Forge for the past 4 years and I wish that the people at Sony Pictures would add a function to insert a sound file at the current location of the cursor, at the end of a currently open file etc, would make allot of editing jobs easier. At present (to my knowledge) the only wao of inserting a file where you want it into a currently open file is to open a new file in a new window, select all the data in that window, go to your other open file, find the point where you wish to insert the clipboard contents and paste it there. nero 5.5 compatibility question
Hi folks, I recently uninstalled an earlier version of nero and installed 5.5 instead. When I tried to burn audio files to a cd-rw disc, I was told that nero was not compatible with my cd-rw Drive. Don't know the model number off-hand, but it's a 4 year old Sony burner on a Dell Dimensions 4100 pc. Question: is cd burning software sometimes specific to particular cd writers? I want it to have a nice and simple cd player, not one that can do 100 things. Although, if I could be able to record from cd, to tape, then that would be nice. I'm not looking for something that's going to be real expensive, as I just couldn't afford that. But something around $100, on down, won't be too bad. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking to buy one online, because I want to be able to go and look at it, and listen to it if possible. Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated. Panasonic do however make a Boom-Box which does play MP3 audio but it sounds nowhere near as good as this one, has a quarter of the power etc. The RX-ED50 has a 3.5 aux jack on the back so you can connect it easily! to a MP3 CD player, output of a computer sound card etc. I've listed below some of the features of this quite remarkable (in my view) boom-box. Well... I would have agreed with you not all that long ago but circuits for digital radio designs have changed dramatically over the last few years, again! you usually get what you pay for. The symptoms described in the original description of the boom-box which was at the centre of this discussion would indicate to me that the digital radio circuit was cheaply made and just... well... just included in the unit as an afterthought. The digital tuner in the Panasonic RX-ED50 boom-box which I referred to a few days ago (which I have one of) has as good a sensitivity as any! analog radio, its the most sensitive digital tuner I've yet found in a boom-box and the band is farely wide too, Panasonic have really done their homework on this little beauty. Yeah! the RX-ED50 ain't the cheapest boom-box around, costing $329.00 RRP (Australian) but (once again!) you get what you pay for. Now if anyone still doubts the sensitivity of digital radios, then take a look at the Ccrane or Outback radio and be prepared to be blown away. write-protected CD-RW
Hi folks, I tried to copy two files totaling 420MB from my hard drive to a CD-RW disc using easy cd creator version 4. I was told the size of the files exceeded the capacity ofthe cd - it lied!. I then pasted one file totaling 200MB into Easy CD Creator, an began the test process. The test was aborted and a list of errors came up. On seeking more information, I was told the disc was write-protected. So far as I know, it wasn't. How can I check? Regards with thanks.
