RE: exciting new tool from Talking Communities
You can use the tcscreen application templates, it will do the upload for you placing to files on the web with the same name. Example: You make a movie called test, you would end up with two files on your web server. Test.htm Test.wmv Simply link to the test.htm file. If you want a player to grab it and play it directly then you could link to Test.wmv The test.htm will bring up in an embeded page. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Olesen Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2005 5:29 AM To: PC audio discussion list. Re: bookmarking an mp3 file
Yes, it can be done with the Daisy players from VisuAide, Plextor and proberbly with the BookPort and BookCourier too. There are also regular MP3 hardware players, with which one can do that, but they're not so accessible. For instance, setting a bookmark with my Nextway NMP-612T is easy, I just have to press a button. But to delete it, I'd have to use the menu system. <*** Michael Lang ***> You wrote: > Hello all, > I'm wondering if there's a software--or hardware--mp3 player that allows > you to place a bookmark in a long file and return to it another > time? Re: newer versions of winamp
Do **NOT** bother with anything with version 3 on it, if it's even still available. They took the best of the version 2 series and combined it with what they thought was the best in version 3 and made version 5. I think the latest is 5.08. It is just as accessible as what you have. One thing, though. When you install it and it asks if you want classic skin or modern skin, avoid modern skin like the plague. If you use modern skin, It will definitely not be accessible, but if you stick with classic, you'll be fine. And the library has some new stuff, too. Also, make sure you have the original executable of what you have now. That way if you really don't like the new version, simply uninstall it and reinstall the old version. Re: bookmarking an mp3 file
Hi, Howard, winamp will allow you to do this with the control j command, which is the jump to time dialog. When you're listening to an mp3, and you happen to be listening with winamp, just press control j, and for example, if you've been listening to 30 minutes of a 60 minute mp3, then just type 30:00 after pressing control j, and you'll be returned to the place where you left off. To find out the relevant information, use your screen reader's review cursor keys once you've entered the control j jump to time dialog. The current version of winamp is version 5.08, and it should be available from http://www.whitestick.co.uk and if that version isn't there, version 5.07 will be there. Hope this helps. Also, note the colon between the 30 and the 00 in the above example. Re: newer versions of winamp
Hi Howard, I think you can go into preferences, and tell it to leave you alone. smile I have 2.8, and 5.0 something, on my machine, and one seems just as accessible as the other. Haven't played with 5 much to see if there is really much to get excited about, but it does seem to use the same basic keystrokes. Hi Steve, Sounds cool and a price of $ 50 isn't really too much for such a tool. What kind of streaming facilities is required for using this. I mean if I buy this and throw a clip up on my web site will I then need a special server for streaming this like windows media center or such? Re: dsl speed
Hi Jay, If you're gonna stream in a good quality your upstream is the importent part not your downstream. I don't know what the actual plan are for your area, but if you could get an upstream of 512 Kbps you'll be well suted for this. 256 will work to some extend though. I have 768 up and 4 megs down.
