RE: recording question with live 365

Subject: Re: recording question with live 365 Hi there. I use the Live 365 player because as far as I know I have to do that in order to receive the preferred member content that I am paying for. If I access a stream on WMP or Winamp I receive the ads and lower quality streams that I'm paying to avoid. Plus streams are blocked when they reach a certain number of free users, which I also want to avoid. So then I guess the question comes down to this. Is there a way to play Live 365 preferred content through Winamp or WMP? Larry - Original Message - From: Hamish Mackenzie [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. You can redirect it to either windows media player or real player. Once you get the particular station playing in windows media player you can then bookmark it and you never have to faff on the web site again. Subject: Re: recording question with live 365 Larry, I've never used the paid service so couldn't say for sure, but that sounds like a self-serving approach on their part. I should think it wouldn't hurt to try to switch to another player if you can. You may find the Winamp interface easier particularly if you want to bookmark a stream and if the quality is good for listening you should get a good recording. I guess I'm one of those folks who just uses embedded players when I have to, smile, and probably just the only site where I do use their player consistently is the BBC site. Here's the $99 Sound Forge upgrade link.
Hello, I wrote the web department of Sony, and recieved the response that the link was not evident on the web site as it was only e-mailed to existing customers. Perhaps it got caught by the spam filter or something. I don't know how long this offer is good for, but I'll send another message later telling when it expires, but for now I wanted to give the link in case you want to get it now. So save this e-mail or click on the link now, as it's the special link not given on the web site itself. Oh, and you want to click on Buy when you get to the web site. If you click on upgrade, you get the standard page with $149 for the price. Re: Joint stereo
Hi Gary and list, I'm not really sure how a person does that to a file, but I certainly agree that it sounds awful. It seems as though I'm always getting this stuff, rather it be music or books. What I really don't understand, is why anyone would want their files to be like this. The way I understand it, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, is that a joint stereo file has one of the channels placed over top of the other one. In other words, they aren't two separate channels like they should be. Someone else can probably explain it better than I can. But that's the way I've understood it to be. What I'd like to know, is that if you get files like this, is there a way to fix them? I'm thinking probably not, but I'm hoping I am wrong. If you can fix them, what do you have to do? Can you just resave them? I doubt it can be that simple. Gary I hope this has helped you in some way. If not, I apologize. Everyone have a terrific day.
