problem with winamp

2005-06-19 Thread Terra Syslo
I went into the winamp library and was looking at all the shoutcast streams,
and usually when I hit enter I can get them to play, but now ever time i enter
on a station winamp isn't trying to play them. The ones I saved in my
bookmarks work fine, and I tried listening to a couple of the same ones by
going through the library, and they won't work. I tried exiting out of winamp
and going back in and refreshing the list, and it won't work. Does anyone have
any suggestions?

Hi,

Total recorder should do it. You need to play the annalog sound generated
from a midi file then record it in a .wav file.

Hope this helps.

Re: Definitions requested and need a question answered.

2005-06-19 Thread Kevin Lloyd
The nero wizard was replaced by nero express from version 6.0 onwards.
Version 6.6 is preferred to earlier 6.x versions as it has generally given
better access to nero express and smart start with each release.

My recommendation though would be to stick with 5.5 unless you have a very
good reason to upgrade. I only upgraded to version 6.3 when I bought a new
computer and found that 5.5 didn't support my burner.

 Hello,

I have good success burning either audio or data cds using Nero 5.5.
Most of the time, I just use the wizard. But now I am thinking of
upgrading to Nero 6.6. I understand there is no wizard in 6.6, yet I
know that a lot of people really like it. So what are the advantages
 of this version over 5.5?

Also, I would like definitions for the following cd burning terms:

 1. Exaclink.

 2. Mount Rainier formatting.

 3. Under burn.

 and

 4. m r read and write.

I know that Mount Rainier formatting has something to do with the incd
packet writing software, but I would like to know the specifics. Thanks
 in advance for responses.

Hi Don.

To configure the CDDB in CDEX, press function key F4 to open the settings
dialogue. Locate the remote CDDB tab and tab to the e-mail address field.
Enter your e-mail address and then tab to OK. Press enter to save your
settings and you should find that CDEX will start searching the CDDB
immediately - assuming you have a CD in the drive of course.

Hi Shane.

Not completely clear what you're looking for here but if it's software to
help you transfer music from your computer to your player and organise it
into playlists then take a look at notmad explorer from Red Chair Software
to see if it supports your player and if it will do what you want it to do.

http://www.redchairsoftware.com/notmad/trial.php

This won't change your players firmware or make the player more accessible
as such but it will allow you to transfer your music by giving you a windows
explorer type interface. You can then create playlists on the player and
therefore make it easier to use.

Re: question about the zen micro media mp3 playerfromcreativetechnologies

2005-06-19 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Hi Shane.

I have a Creative jukebox 2 and use notmad explorer to load the player.
Once I've loaded the player, I generally create a playlistor two of all of
the tracks I want the player to play. When I come to use the player there
is minimal menu use to start it playing the playlist I've created.
Basically, it's one press of the menu button and then push in the jog dial 4
times and the playlist starts.

Now the Zen could be quite different to the juke box but really the point
I'm making is that I do all of the loading and creation of playlists through
notmad explorer while the player is connected to my computer and I have full
accessibility to it and all of it's functions. When I then unhook it and
take it away, it's just the case of a few simple keystrokes to start the
playlist. I should also say that the playlist is resumed if I turn the
player off by simply pressing play the next time I turn it on.

Re: configuring cddb in cdex 1.51

2005-06-19 Thread simon.dowling

hi Donald, in settings you have two cddb pages.
1 is the local cddb page, this is where the names styles and other
information is stored usually it resides in my music.
the second page is the remote cddb page, if you put a tick in the auto
connect to remote cddb box, when you put a cd in, it will search for any
artists matching your cd.
that's all you really need to do, and it should work with Nero too, although
I use roxio myself, and that uses the grace notes cddb.

Hello,

I have never previously needed to use the cddb facility in Cdex 1.51,
and I can't figure out how to configure it. Would someone please take
me step by step through this process.

By the way, I am having a similar problem when attempting to configure
cddb in Nero 5.5. So if someone would provide that info, I would also
be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

There are no clickable graphis that a screen reader can make use of with the
creative media software. I have to have sighted assistance with it as well.

Nero generally starts with a new compilation dialogue. Press escape after
starting nero to dismiss this dialogue and then you will be able to select
from the menu bar including the file menu.

 Kevin,

Where do you find a Files menu in Nero? I have version 6, and if I launch
Nero Burning ROM discretely, or any of the other program modules, they
don't
seem to have Windows-style menu lines with File menus. And if I launch
Nero
Express, it doesn't, either. Where in Version 6 is an interface with a
menu
 line, including a File menu?

 Thanks.

To configure the CDDB in nero:

 1. Press alt + F to open the file menu

 3. Locate the Database tab.
 4. Tab to the use HTTP server checkbox and press spacebar to check it.
 5. Tab to the open database when

Hi,
What do you mean by calling CDDB grace notes? I play and read music, so
that's the spirit in which I'm asking. I know what a grace note is, too.
So why do you refer to CDDB as grace notes?

Thanks. Always interested to learn new technical expressions.
