Re: Wanting too learn Nero.

2005-08-24 Thread nick danger
Houdy Brent,

Absolutely, get rid of that OEM version first and if you can swing it grab
the ultra upgrade package. You may also want to grab the file encoder and
the w m a plug ins as well. Once you've installed everything, you'll be
able to rip, burn, and encode cd's; burn and copy any type of dvd's you
want without a hitch and more. When I got the same error that you were
talking about, I remembered just exactly why I hate OEM versions of
products. They're kind of like trying to enjoy drinking flat beer at a
cookout! LOL!

recording TV on the computer

2005-08-24 Thread Brent Harding
What is the most accessible, using JFW 6.2, program to do scheduled
recording from a TV tuner card? The NVidia software that comes with the
personal Cinema is almost useless, all I can really do with it is close it.
I got a trial of Beyond TV I downloaded, although usable, if you use
snapstream.net, and wait forever for it to update to put the jobs in the
active schedule, I did get files, but they have a lot of crackle and pop to
them. I don't get that on my regular TV hooked up to the same cable TV
service as my modem and computer. It doesn't seem to do live TV that
accessibly, and I can't find a way to get in to a setting to make it work
with that NVidia remote. I might consider eliminating the other splitter
going to the TV, if it'd make the audio sound better, but I'm not fond of
having to get up and use the jaws cursor to flip the channel.
Thanks.

Nvidia Forceware Remote, how can I get it going?

2005-08-24 Thread Brent Harding
I got a personal cinema NVidia card in my new machine. I figured it is
cheaper than the ATI All in Wonder, and does almost the same things, why
spend a bundle on graphics I can't see, but I do like the idea of turning my
machine in to working like a Tivo. It comes with an NVidia Forceware remote,
whose receiver hooks to the usb port. It lets me pick applications for
playing dvd, music, photos, etc, so I picked media player for music, since
winamp isn't an option in the combo box. The remote control aplet in the xp
control panel is about the only part of all the software included with this
card that Jaws 6.2 will even read anything of. Even when the music app is
set to media player and I press the music button on the remote, media player
comes up, but is unaffected by the remote even if I load up a track it could
play. How can I get this remote to work? Also, how can I map it to winamp
commands? I can't even use the x10 remote plugin I found on winamp.com to
operate it, it won't accept output from the receiver to hit a key to map to
a function. I suppose the remote, although it mentions NVidia x10 remote
control device, isn't x10 complient enough.
Thanks.

Re: Accessible CDG software

Could this program burn audio DVD's, comparable to an extra large audio CD
with about 6-7 times as much content on it? Or am I better off using movie
maker to import the podcasts or whatever and export that as a movie minus
the visual part.
Thanks.

Accessible CDG software

2005-08-24 Thread Don Ball
I would like to do the following with CDG or karaoke stuff. We have many CDG
CDS and would like to custom make CDG CDS to keep from having to switch
disks so much. I would Like the software to work exactly like easy CD
creater but with CDG material. I would Also Like to be able to download CDG
songs from walmart.com etc and make custom CDS as well. I would need help
with that as I don't know which formats those files are downloaded in. So I
guess the software would need to do the following.
1. would have to be able to look up karaoke discs on a database so I don't
have to edit title info.
2. Would Be able to copy a song from a CDG CD and put it on a custom CDG for
listening and viewing. 3. Would Keep a cession opened on a CD until you are
ready to close the full cd. 4. Could download purchased music and create
custom CDGS.
I am just getting in to Karaoke and CDG formats and would like lots of help
with my project. Don.

RE: Nero and Cd rewritable

2005-08-24 Thread Peter Logue
I've never had a failure. The only time a CD has not worked is if I didn't
copy anything onto it before burning or I screwed up on the format.
Otherwise I always burn a good CD, and I only use cheap CDRW discs.

CD rewriteable disks don't always play on some CD players, especially ones

Hi Debbie.

Can you not simply play the cd rom in your computer and record using
GoldWave. It would save messing around with cables.

Best wishes

Re: Recording from CDRom.

2005-08-24 Thread Chris Skarstad
the way it sounds here, you would want to maybe buy yourself a portable mp3
player with a voice recorder such as an iRiver or another player with a
voice recorder on it, which will save as an mp3. you can then transfer
those files to your computer and then burn them to an audio cd, which will
play in any cd player. you could just record your class notes as a straight
up mp3 and transer it that way and burn to cd using any of the standard cd
burning programs like Nero, which is my favorite.

Yeah, I just discovered that. Well, I suppose I could save it as a .wav
file, and just have one odd file in this album, on my hard drive.

Still, there's a more basic issues I need to figure out. How do I configure
Goldwave to record whatever is going trough the output of my *secondary*
(not default) sound card? I set the controls the way I thought would do the
job, but it didn't. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks.
