Re: Would more professional sound cards help?
My mic is connected to the mic jack on the Turtle Beach. It always was extremely noisy for a $99 wireless mic, but if I use the stereo mix option, and play an existing file through it into the recording on playback again that gets flattened to pretty much mid range only. How do I get to the equalizer settings that apply to the recording settings to turn it up so it about matches playback? Windows update keeps insisting that I update my Turtle Beach driver to a C-Media driver, and good thing for system restore as that makes it always sound bad. I think that C-Media probably should apply to the onboard sound, not the turtle beach, but windows wants it on the turtle beach. - Original Message - From: "Jerry Richer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: Winamp equaliser
Alt G opens the graphical equalizer window. and this window must be open before you can perform the following functions. A). The letter n toggles the equalizer on and off. B). Your equalizer consists of ten bands, generally, five per each left and right channel. C). The numbers 1 through 0 on the number row keys increase the output of that particular band while the letters q through p decrease the level of that particular band. D) there is also a pre-amp function and the grave key (I believe increases) the output of the pre-amp while the tab key lowers the output of the pre-amp. Too much output will create distortion and too little output will have the same effect as lowering your volume to zero. A setting of about plus or minus 4 generally works best for the pre-amp. A setting other than this range would likely have specialized or more professional functionality but mid range setting is what I use. - Original Message - From: "Marty Rimpau" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Laptop problem and PC-MCIA sound card
Hi all, I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop. Its a good one but for a single problem. The laptop's fan starts rotating, there is a hissing sound in the audio input. So, the other party gets to hear this sound and they say it is quite pronounced. Has anyone used this laptop so far and have you faced this problem? Secondly, I have about 100 tapes that I would like to convert to digital audio and I only have this laptop to do it on. I am thinking of buying a SoundBlaster PC-MCIA card. Has anyone used this card before? Does it require any special drivers on Windows XP SP2? Thanks, Kiran Kaja Code Factory S.L. Hi. I have another question, how do you enter rotations? I am also using Station Playlist Creator 3.02 and when I get to the Rotations tab then I press Control-n and enter the rotation name and can't figure how how to save that information. I am running Jaws 7.0 and Windows XP home. Also, what do I put into the rotation information? I have looked at the help sections but no joy. Any info would be appreciated and thanks in advance. Re: Winamp equaliser
Hi This is incorrect. Alt g toggles the equalizer, alt w toggles the main window on and off. if you are using JAWS version 4.5 and up, press insert plus h, and insert plus w to get Winamp keyboard shortcuts, including those for the equalizer. Re: Winamp equaliser
Hi, that is alt g, not alt w, just wanted to make that clear, alt w is for the main window. Re: Winamp equaliser
You hit alt w to open the equalizer, then control tab over and hit the letter n to enable or disable at will. You then use numbers one through zero to turn up the bands.
