This may be more a topic for the guispeak list, but here goes. Does anyone know if any progress has been made to make Palms talk? I just saw an audio player that does just about everything--no playlists required, has gapless and crosssfading capabilities, two different kinds of bookmarks (user-definable and auto-restart), ... just about all the really good features. Hi there! I don't know about the palm OS, but the pocket pc which is the equivalent of Microsoft and there is great audio software for that is accessible. There are two screen readers for that, pocket hal from Dolphin systems, and mobile speak pocket from Code factory. I haven't tested any of them myself, but pocket hal looks very promissing from a demonstration that I heard recently. Regards. Hi, Roden. Which type of microphone is best to use for calling with yahoo messenger? I have a headset but I can only find one place in the back of the computer where you'd plug in a microphone. Noise reduction for winamp
I want to listen to one of my favorite FM stations that I moved too far away from, and alas the streaming is back. What Winamp plugin can I use to reduce this high-frequency tone that they seem to be sending with the streaming signal? It is at least a 64k shoutcast stream. The tone seems to move through the stereo image in a weird pattern. It is puzzling why this would show up on the stream but not on the radio when I can hear the station in a car and it sounds nice with no tone there. They do have a little AC hum you can hear when the DJ is talking, even on the radio, and no music is on but that is more tolerable than this tone that is exclusive to the stream. Of course anything I do could reduce quality somewhat but it would be good to reduce the tone. I just wonder what they could've done that creates this into the stream, don't know of a wiring problem that would give me something close. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Re: Noise reduction for winamp
If it isn't the pilot tone that is causing the trouble, it has to be some harmonic of 60 hz that a regular radio would completely eliminate so one wouldn't hear it. How would I get winamp to decode it to make it sound reasonably OK? I hate to not be able to listen to it as they don't really have much like it within my indoor wire antenna range. It seems that they took the same feed that the transmitter gets and put it into the streaming machine's sound card as if most people would use modulaters to send it around the house, maybe. - Original Message - From: Gary G. Wav Hammer in SF
I am writing this message for a friend who is not on this list at this time. It is about Sound Forge and its Wav Hammer function. He has used Wav Hammer successfully in SF6 and now when he tries to use it in version 7 of Sound Forge he gets a message saying it is a demo and it puts in beeps every so many seconds. AS far as we know it is not a function you need to purchas as an extra. Any clues as to why this might happen and how to resolve it. Peter S.
