Re: Can this file be saved?
WellWinamp, so anything I might say would be a guess. I'll leave the next step to the rest of the list. I could only guess that winamp is playing the file at too high a volume, if it is distorted. If it just sounds "compressed," the MP3 bit rate might be too low in WInamp. I don't know how to check or change these things. Re: How to extract sound from video files?
I doubt it will do mpeg-2 video, which most of the stuff from TV tuner cards is as the cards provide hardware acceleration to encode directly to that format. I really hate Imtoo because I can't shush the progress unless a maximized IE window is in focus, only an IE window will do too, it seems, but I want Winamp in focus to use my remote control I got with my Snapstream package, which I think just sends arrow keys to Winamp when it's in focus. - Original Message - From: "Allison Mervis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. we don't lower burn rate unless a cd fails to burn we usually burn at the maximum speed allowed by our burnner. the only reason a cd would fail is cause of the buffer time/or if the buffer is to long in burnning. that sometimes happens on the kinds of material that is burned to a cd. - Original Message - From: "Wollner" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio" Sent: Monday, July 31, 2006 8:28 AM Subject: the qualty of a burned cd > What I would like to know is. Re[2]: A quick Sound Forge 6.0 question
Hello Kelly, On Wednesday, July 26, 2006, 5:05:47 PM, you bellowed the following: > After each slider, there's an "invert" checkbox. Does anyone know > what these do? Yes, they flip the sound out of phase. For example, if you're working in a situation where you want something inverted on top of the source, for example, if you've isolated a narrow frequency band and want it completely phased out of the original material, given that levels are set exactly, you can invert the source and mix over the selection. As a not very practical, but illustrative example, you can take a 1 khz sign wave, copy it to the clipboard, then mix it over itself with either the source or destination inverted, both at 0 db. If you've done things properly, you'll get a file of absolute silence for the duration of the tone that used to be there. -- Good Monday, -- Patrick Perdue (MCP, CNA) KE4DYI Greensboro, NC website: http://www.pdaudio.net home: +1(828)221-2971 Mobile phone and SMS: +1(336)509-5583 e-mail and .net messenger: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For anything related to the yamaha motif line of keyboards and modules, subscribe to the motif-help mailing list by sending a blank message to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. the qualty of a burned cd
What I would like to know is. If you copy a cd with Nero or another burning program that you use. Okay now does it matter what speed you burn at as long as it burns successfully? Also if you are copying an audio cd do you loose any sound quality burning the disk at a faster speed then on a slower burn setting? What I mean is say you make a copy of a friends cod and you burn it at 16 x and then just for the heck of it you then burn a copy at 24 or 32 x. Now between those two copies well they be a better sounding copy or doesn't it really matter just as long as the disk burn successfully? The reason for asking it I am trying to find that best speed for me to burn at and get the best sounding copies for what I have over hear. I can burn from 8 x up to 48 x on my burner. So thanks to all for the suggestions and all of the help and I will look forward to reading any responses I get on this. Re: accessible Dj software
Hey Steve, I find I can get used to Studio 4's mic delay, especially since I have been able to bring the buffer down from 500 to 300 ms. It really isn't bad, certainly compared to the functionality you get in their latest version. I'm a newbie broadcaster, but, man, I'm lovin' this. Darrell Shandrow - Shandrow Communications! Re: Can this file be saved?
Try to save it as WAV and put it onto an audio CD. Then play that CD in a standalone player. That will tell you whether you have decent sound. BTW, the Higher the bit-rate of your original recording, the better the sound. Most commercial CDs are recorded at 44,000. It might be something as simple as your Winamp settings, but you won't know until you test. Can this file be saved?
Hi, all. I've been working on this project for my dad's 80th birthday using Soundforge 6.0, Jaws and Windows XP. I was using files from various sources in the project, which is why I guess Soundforge decided to sample it at 22000 mhz (sorry if that's not quite right, but it's close enough.) It sounds great when I play it back in Soundforge, lousy and fuzzy when I hear it on winamp. Is there anything I can do to make this sound decent? I originally wanted to send it via yousendit.com as an MP3 file, but that didn't seem to work out, so I guess I'll save it as a wave file and just send it on an audio CD. In any case, right now it sounds lousy and I just don't know enough to know what to do from here. Any help? As always, thanks in advance. You guys rock! Right now, OtsDJ is cheaper than SP, and you get different features with the two packages, and they both have pretty steepy learning curves, but they'll both do what you want quite nicely. The only problem with Ots DJ is there's latency in the mic or line-in circuit which can cause horrendous feedback if you're not careful.
