Re: Looking for an Audacity tutorial
Hi, To fix the delay after the event, you can time-shift tracks with respect to each other. This is described in the Jaws guide for audacity 1.3.2 referred to in a previous post. In the advanced editing section there's a section on aligning tracks. When you're doing this you'll probably need to set the format of selection start to hh:mm:ss + milliseconds, so you can get the correction accurate enough (see the section on the Selection bar for details). For future recordings, in Preferences, in the Audio I/O category, you can set a latency correction in milliseconds: The recorded track will be delayed by that amount (which can be negative). David Bailes. original message - Now, I have another problem. I am trying to record a couple of my friends singing a song with a karaoke track. It seems that when Audacity lays down the vocals, there is a delay that results in the vocals being one beat off. Is there any way I can fix that? I sure hope it isn't my mixer and sound card. ___ Yahoo! Mail is the world's favourite email. I'm noticing an odd thing that I've never had happen before. In the library, I often use the search function since my library is so large and not everything is propperly tagged due to the various rippers and taggers I've used over the years. Anyhow, when I type something into the search box, anytime I press the spacebar, it inserts the space like it should, but also inserts the letter X. Anyone else having this problem or know what might be causing it? Also, I reverted back to the Winamp scripts that came with JAWS 8.0.1177...No change; the library still only reads the last letter of each option in the Tree View such as Audio, Video and stuff...They're both O. Usually, if I use Say Current Line, I can get the whole name spoken, but not always. I deleted the scripts I'd downloaded from JFWLite and, as I said, went back to the default scripts...No change. Fwd: Tune into ACB Radio World with the brand-new ACB Radio Tuner!
From: Jeff Bishop [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The ACB Radio Web team among a number of others have been working hard on a brand-new version of the ACB Radio Tuner. With the launch of the ACB Radio World stream, we have released the new ACB Radio Tuner. Here is what is new in this release: * This version only supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows VISTA. The older version will remain available for older client desktops such as Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT Version 4.0. * Addition of the ACB Radio World stream reachable by pressing CTRL+D. * Addition of several new hotkeys. * Windows Media Player hotkey changed to CTRL+E. * Settings are saved in a custom INI file (ACB Radio Tuner.ini) to eliminate Windows registry writes. The file is placed in the user's Application Data folder in a directory called ACB Radio Tuner. This insures that the program will operate under VISTA. * Improved, cleaner visual user interface. * The No Extra Speech setting is now saved if selected so that future sessions do not check for the availability of a screen reader. We have great plans for the future of the Tuner and you will start to see more frequent updates as we begin to implement those features. You can download the Tuner from the web at: http://www.acbradio.org/tuner I want to sincerely thank the following individuals for their contributions in making this version a tremendous success: Darren Paskell - for giving us the source code of the original from which to build from. He rocks! Darrell Shandrow - for putting up with buggy versions and for assisting in writing the documentation. Matthew Horspool - for assistance with documentation updates and for developing the ACB Radio Tuner tutorial (to be released soon). Tina Ektermanis - for digging out her dusty Windows 98 box, blowing the dirt out of the fans, finding its old power cord and getting that crusty hard drive to boot to test the new version on that platform. Shucks, and all to find out it doesn't work. Thanks Tina for the hard work late in to the night. Chrissie and Marlaina - for giving us the support we needed to get this done and for always being there. Main Menu Friends Group users - without their help, this never would have been a success. There are far to many to list here, but thanks gang! Again, get the new tuner at: http://www.acbradio.org/tuner Happy Tuning everyone. lowering the volume for voiceover
Hi all, I'm about to start a regular net broadcast show. I've got a question: I'm planning to use either Oddcast or the Sam encoders. I have Audiostocker doing compression with Winamp 5.33. What can I do to lower the volume of the music so I can talk over it? Will oddcast do this once the live recording is checked? What about the Sam encoders? If not is there a dsp that'll do it? I know the shoutcast 1.8 plug-in will do it in the advanced settings, but I'd rather not use it if I don't have to. The wireless amplifier they sell is reported to be extremely good. It is one of the new highly acclaimed T-amps. Laptop suggestions?
Hey, Guys! I am looking for a new laptop, and have never owned one before. I want it for other things, yes, but want it powerful enough for on the road recording as well, which is why I am asking this list for suggestions. I would like to keep it under 1,000 dollars, but will entertain any suggestion, if the cost can be justified. I am a Jaws user, but look to add Window Eyes soon too. I will be traveling with this thing, so screen size is not important, except that it should not be some huge 17 inch monster. It does have to fit my backpack after all.
