Re: Juice won't Open

I did a Google search and came up with the following as to where Juice
config info is stored:

\documents and settings\username\application data\ipodder

Here is the rub:

while I found this subdirectory (it holds 5 files) on my external MyBook
Western Digital backup drive, this is no where to be found on my hd.

: What if I created a cd with the appropriate directory /mrp with

: Juice fell for the trick immediately allowing me to get into the

: Not wanting a similar problem down the road, I decided to store the

 :
: Now some observations: while both the Juice uninstaller and

: system, none of the configuration info was touched.
: Hence, when the program returned to the pc, it immediately picked up

: While in this instance, this was a positive; it is a reminder that

An important patch has just been released to fix a security issue in
Winamp 5.34. One place where you can download the patch from is at
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Winamp_5_Security_Patch/1066336873/4.
The patch is 56kb in size. Here is some information about the patch:

Winamp 5.34a Security Patch includes a patched version of in_mp4.dll
(v1.22) that
fixes the MP4 file parsing buffer overflow vulnerability. The
vulnerability is caused
due to an error within the handling of MP4 files and can be exploited
to cause memory
corruption via a specially crafted MP4 file. Successful exploitation
allows execution
of arbitrary code.

Problem with Goldwave

2007-05-06 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hello, I am having a problem with Goldwave. I have tried to record a stereo
file of a bit from a CD, just to play with. The track is in stereo, but when I
try to play the portion I have recorded, it comes out in Mono. I have selected
to do stereo in the new sound dialog, but it doesn't work. Why is this? What
can I do to sort this out?

I have my own FTP NAS server here. Simple NAS. Network Attached
Storage.

I am telling you here. This NAS is very SLOW when it comes to
downloading files.

So do not tell me why but it is free. No fees to have it. Of
course I had to buy the hard drive.

You will find mp3 files there on how to use Replay AV and other
Applian products with JAWS.

I have a southern accent here. I do speak Greek here too.

The Server will be up today and Monday from 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern
Time USA.

Go to:

http://petro.dyndns.org

Do ALT+V and choose:

Open FTP site in Windows Explorer.

Enter on PUBLIC link/folder/directory.

You will see all the files and folders there that you can
download to your hard drive.

There 2 files there that do not relate to Replay and they are
htere to help KFOR computer show as 1 file was recorded by me
and they needed it and the other one is a tv recording.

Note: If I lose my power the server will be down.

Patch for Winamp 5.34

2007-05-06 Thread Larry N
Hi everyone. I came in late on the discussion of the Wimamp patch for
version 5.34. So i thought I could just locate it at the Winamp site and
follow instructions. Maybe I'm missing something, but I could find no
reference to it there. So, where can I find it and will it self install to
the right folder? If it won't self install, then what do I do with it?

Thanks,

Larry

The last few times I tried a flash playerof any kind, I couldn't get it to work

2007-05-06 Thread Vicki
This is a pretty nasty problem with both Macro and Adobe Flash players. I
use JAWS 8, and still can't get it to work. You might try calling Freedom
Scientific if you use Jaws. If you use another screen reader, try calling
their tech support. I know that part of the problem is that the player
controls are imbedded in the web page, so screen readers can't access the
controls. Someone recommended changing some active.exe files, but that
required writing a lot of computer scripts and lines into text files, and I
didn't feel I was knowledgeable enough to do that, and there was no
guarantee it would work anyway.

I told them eather way, I have to have Jaws or Window Eyes because I am a
 blind computer user.
How elce will I be able to read the computer screen if I can't see it?
They couldn't anser me on that one.
 So what do I do?

This is a pretty nasty problem with both Macro and Adobe Flash
 players.
 I
use JAWS 8, and still can't get it to work. You might try calling
 Freedom
Scientific if you use Jaws. If you use another screen reader, try
 calling
their tech support. I know that part of the problem is that the player
controls are imbedded in the web page, so screen readers can't access
 the
controls. Someone recommended changing some active.exe files, but that
required writing a lot of computer scripts and lines into text files,
 and
 I
didn't feel I was knowledgeable enough to do that, and there was no
 guarantee it would work anyway.

John,

No, the pc audio list is not about helping blind computer
users. It's for anyone who wants to discuss using audio on a
computer and only audio on a computer, and that's why it is
called pc-audio.

Would you go into a grocery store and demand they sell you a
computer just because you are a blind person and you just
happen to be there?

When you subscribed to the pc audio list you received a
welcome message with all the guidelines for the list. You
were asked to remove yourself from the list if you didn't
agree with the guidelines.

There are several other lists where general computer
questions can be discussed.

Frankly, I think you have a very poor attitude as to what you
should and should not expect because you are blind. It's a
sighted world we live in and if the sighted adapt to us
that's great but most of the time it's going to have to be
the other way around.

Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software

2007-05-06 Thread John Price
Dear Tom,
I think you misunderstand me here.
I happen to know that Jaws and Window Eyes are 2 diffrend types of software
that helps those of us who can't see how to read our computer screens.
Now I'm not trying to get in to a fight here, first you should know those of
us who don't have eyes that can see, our hand and ears are our eyes.
Jaws and Window Eyes are autible software, they make the computer screens
talk.
Don't take my word for it, ask another blind person about these 2 diffrent
kinds of software, see what they say.
Cence you happen to know about these other diskussion groops for blind
computer users, how about giving me the links to them.
I think you have a distorted view about my addatood, I know what this groop
is about.
And persize, I don't see you going after any one about things like tv tuner
cards, whitch is somthing I'm also thinking about.
I don't believe I've said anything rong.
I have a very strong faith in the Lord God hoom I serve.
If I said or done anything rong, he would correct me in a hartbeat.
I will say a prayr for you that you will be a little more understanding then
you are.
If any of us happen to be in the rong place seaking help witha persific
problem and if you know whare we can go to get that help, then by all means,
please tell us by giving us the links to these sights.
Not all of us know whare to look for the kind of help we need, so a lot of
us stick to what we know.
So please tell me, whare is the harm in that?

Re: Patch for Winamp 5.34

2007-05-06 Thread Steve Pattison
Hi Larry,

One place where you can find this patch is at
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Winamp_5_Security_Patch/1066336873/4.
The patch is 56kb in size. It is an .EXE file and when you run it it
will detect your Winamp directory and install itself in the right
place. Just follow the prompts the patch gives you when you install it.

At 02:55 AM 7/05/2007, you wrote:
I came in late on the discussion of the Wimamp patch for
version 5.34. So i thought I could just locate it at the Winamp site and
follow instructions. Maybe I'm missing something, but I could find no
reference to it there. So, where can I find it and will it self install to
the right folder? If it won't self install, then what do I do with it?
