Re: Refreshable Braille clock for broadcasters
The Braille N Speak will not work in a broadcast environment and will not give you a second by second countdown as the hour progresses. What is needed is a realtime touch accessible clock with second hand feedback. Just getting a timer is a simple problem to fix. High Sunshine, I too am using a Sound Blaster sound card in my computer. In order for the line in jack to send an audio signal to your speakers, you have to check that box. Hi! Some time ago on this list, we discussed the marvelous Imic USB devices, a nice little external sound device which works and performs well and I reckon after what I've just seen there's absolutely no excuse for anyone at all who's planning on buying 1 or 2 of these little beauties to hold off any longer. Go onto Ebay and search for Imic under computers and you'll see brand new Imic's being sold for $39.00 plus about $10.00 insured postage, if that ain't a bargain then I'd like to know what is. ** Dane Trethowan From Melton Victoria Australia Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] phone uk 0121 288 4976 Phone/tty (+61 3) 9747 975 Fax +61 3 9743 7954 mobile/sms: +61425 777 508 Skype: callto:grtdane12 msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ** Join the fight against spam! Re: Shoutcast or Windows Media servers for cell phones
Hi. I don't think such a thing actually exists. In fact, it doesn't have to because there are some phones out there, the names escape me for the moment, but they can receive mp3 streams from a shoutcast server. so just run your stream as is. I'm sure others will be able to be more helpful as far as models of phones go but that's my understanding. At 11:17 PM 6/20/2007, you wrote: Hello List! Syncing with Windows Media Player 10?
I tried to copy a protected WMA file to a portable Olympus player, but I failed. One has to use the Sync function of the player to do that as much as I know. But how can one select a file there? Re: Where do you put files on an Ipod?
Hey Brian! Are you using rockbox? If you are, then you just put your music in a new folder you create with Windows explorer. Of course, you then have to boot to rockbox. If you boot to the I Pod firmware, then you won't see this folder and would have to use I Tune to read your music files. it really depends at what you rip them at. if you do 4800 you could probably get about 5 movies on a cd. if you rip them at 44100 maybe 8, maybe 10 it also depends on the length of the movie. - Original Message - From: James [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, June 21, 2007 11:12 AM Subject: movies on ced does anyone have a clue how many movies one could put on a cd if they are just audio mp3's Ôà Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Easy CDDA Extractor Scripts: What do I do with them
Hello List! You know, back when JAWS was installed onto the root director and had the JFW folder right there, one could find the settings folder and add scripts to it. Now I don't see where JAWS is stored, so how do I get the scripts where they are suppose to be? The script writer should put a direct extraction link to the right place in JAWS were they should be (an executable I think it is called). Could someone give me the place where it should go. Re: Easy CDDA Extractor Scripts: What do I do with them
Hi. this isn't really pc-audio related but this is still a very good idea. What you need to do is to go to: http://randylaptop.com/projects/JUnpack/ on that page, you will find a little utility that makes installing JAWS scripts as painless as possible. after it's installed, simply right click or use your context menu key and If you press enter on the send to sub menu, you can then press enter on the JAWS settings directory menu item and the program will come up. For ease of use, I would recommend that you download the first version of the program, which contains the full installer, start menu shortcuts and documentation. that way you'll know how to actually use the thing. but it works like a charm. don't worry, each link is very clearly labeled, so you should have no problem telling which one is what. Hello Dan, You mite try ajusting your mane valume, if it's less then 85%, all of the levels will sound like they're to low. Turne the mane volume and all of the line/mic ins on both cards up to 85%, and they will be fine. Also, you mite try turning the volume on your speakers up a little too. Hey Brian! Are you using rockbox? If you are, then you just put your music in a new folder you create with Windows explorer. Of course, you then have to boot to rockbox. If you boot to the I Pod firmware, then you won't see this folder and would have to use I Tune to read your music files. Re: Using Rockbox in Australia
Ok, well I cannot answer your question regarding Rockbox, what I was getting at was that accessaries were now available for Ipods which allowed the connection of audio and video devices so that the Ipod could record directly from those, these accessaries allowed full control of recording whether that be from the Ipod itself or a computer, they've been reviewed in our local newspaper over the last couple of weeks. Re: Where do you put files on an Ipod?
I could be wrong but from the experience I've had with shuffles, you have to transfer your music over to them with Itunes or another player which can manage Ipods, when you just transfer MP3 files over to an Ipod as say an external drive, the Ipod recognises the files as data and not music. Re: Ever thought about getting an Imic
Sarah, I had read the switches for the line in and speaker jack on the IMic are mislabeled. this is why you may not be getting any audio output. it has to do with a toggle switch for the line and mic or some kind of input. Also I read where you may not get any output on a windows 98-se machine. sounds like an interesting device! - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, June 21, 2007 6:45 PM Subject: Re: Ever thought about getting an Imic Ah ok, you certainly should hear audio if all is working as it should through your headphones. Re: skipe
hi. ok, your questions are all very easily answered. firstly, to call your contact, press enter on their name in the contact list. you will hear a phone ring type of sound and when they answer, talk as normal. when you are done with the call, press escape. and calls from computer to computer are absolutely free. it's when you call regular phones when charges start to happen. I hope this helps. At 06:00 PM 6/21/2007, you wrote: I hope this on topic, I need some with my skipe. No I have everthing hooked up right andI can hear the recording as it is piped trough to another soudn card, i use audacity to hear it via the play what is bveeing recorded option, but whenI plug the headphonesn to it I don't hear a thing. : Sarah, I had read the switches for the line in and speaker jack on : the IMic are mislabeled. this is why you may not be getting any : audio output. it has to do with a toggle switch for the line and mic : or some kind of input. Re: Where do you put files on an Ipod?
yes that is certainly true for the shuffle. Although you can copy and paste music to the shuffle, you will need to use rebuild to make the files actually play. mark - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, June 21, 2007 11:40 PM Subject: Re: Where do you put files on an Ipod? I could be wrong but from the experience I've had with shuffles, you have to transfer your music over to them with Itunes or another player which can manage Ipods, when you just transfer MP3 files over to an Ipod as say an external drive, the Ipod recognises the files as data and not music.
