RE: Creative zen 16GB drive

2008-08-11 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
I just bought the 4 gb model of this player for my wife. All I had to
do was plug it in and wait for the thing to be recognised. When it's
recognised, and you open the drive in explorer, you'll find a folder
called storage or something like that. Open that folder and you'll
find Music, Recordings, Pictures, etc. Open the one you want and then
copy and past contents into the folder.

I haven't tried adding things on an external memory card though. Does
it use, standard sd or mini or micro sd cards?

Hi all,

Has anyone gotten any experience using the zen 16gb drive?

If so, is there a way to copy files without using WMP? I want to copy
some audio files to the player, but really would like to use Windows
Explorer to copy the files.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Regards,
Tim Martin

RE: The quality of books from audible.com

Another source for some of the same and other material is
http://www.audiobookstand.com It's encoded in drm wmp. You can also
buy books on cd or tape. They don't offer the same kind of reader
plans, but the prices aren't too bad and there's always lots of stuff
on sale.

Ok, well I'll check to be sure but I take your point about some of the
older books and that may be the reason why, I note that some of my books
in my library are at a lower format than others.

Anyway its a good service an because of what you've pointed, out I'll
find out what format level each book is available up to, I've also made
a point of purchasing more books on CD.

If you use one of the lower formats such as 2 or 3 the audio isn't
 very good.
It could also be that you're downloading an old book and sometimes
they're only available in the lower formats (bit rates).

 Hi!

What to users of http://www.audible.com think of the quality of audio

books on the site? I have to admit to being a little disappointed
that the quality was as low as it was, I've written to Audible about
this and I hope that perhaps they may make higher quality encoded
material available at some stage, I for one wouldn't mind paying a
little more. I cancelled my membership but I still have my account
on the site as the service itself is a great one and I'm hoping that
it will get even better over time.

Hi Clifford,

It doesn't work quite like that on this drive. I'm still working on it,
and will post to the list how I got it to work. I wish it was as easy
as you said, but for some strange reason they made this one a little
more complex as far as how the computer works with it.

Thanks much,
Tim Martin
