Re: getting size statistics on music folder
Yes, select the folder. Press the your right mouse or the application key. Press the letter r or click on properties. Use your mouse routing keys (jfw is insert plus minus and windows is insert plus.) Press the number two on the numpad and arrow down until you hear used space. YOu will hear a very large long number but just below that number you will hear the size in gigabytes. - Original Message - From: "Robert Peters" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2008 8:16 PM Subject: getting size statistics on music folder > Hi, > > I have over two hundred CDs saved on my PC in a folder called \mp3. HI, Right click on the MP3 folder that contains your files and arro up to properties. If you are using jaws you wil need to jaws cursor down to read the total size of the folder. Re: Windows media player 10 info needed
There are several ways to create a play list in WMP10. The easiest is to start by locating the files in Windows. Move to the first file you want to have in your play list and right click or press the applications key. You will find a menu that should have "Add to Now Playing List". Click this and WMP will start up with that song. You can add more songs by going back to the folder, selecting more songs and using the context key again. Now in WMP, you want to find the now playing list. You can tab around till it shows up but if you have Jaws; ctrl+alt+l should focus the list. If you don't find the Now Playing list, use the view menu, Go To, Now Playing. When the list is focused, use arrow keys to focus individual items. Use the context menu key to bring up a menu for each item including moving up and down in the list. Once you have your songs in the right order, use the File Menu, Save Now Playing List as option to save your play list. Note: you could have started with a blank Now Playing list which is also in the file menu before doing anything else to save time. Hope this helps. Bob - Original Message - From: "Donald L. Re: getting size statistics on music folder
Hi Keith, I'm using Window Eyes, but your suggestion still worked like a charm. I can't believe I missed that, but I just tabbed through the property menu looking at things I could change and, of course, the size stats are display only, not modifiable controls. Thanks much, Robert - Original Message - From: "Keith Gillard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2008 11:01 PM Subject: Re: getting size statistics on music folder > HI, > > Right click on the MP3 folder that contains your files and arro up to > properties. Re: Question about creating M3U files
Hi robert, One way to do this is to use Jamal Mazrui's excellent and free file manager FileDir available from www.empowermentzone.com/dirsetup.exe and FileDir will also let you know the total size of a folder solving your other problem as well. I hope this helps. Regards Steve. Question about creating M3U files
Hi all, I ripped a whole bunch of CDs to mp3 format using an earlier version of CDEX extractor and at that time they did not have the default set to create m3u playlists. I now have a couple hundred ripped CDs on my system, but only the last two dozen or so have m3u files in the folder with the mp3 songs. Can someone tell me of an easy way to create an M3U file for all the contents of a given folder? Fwd: iTunes 8 and Window-Eyes 7.0 Beta 3
From: Aaron Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: GW Micro List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Greetings, Some of you have hinted that the new software feature we were hiding in Window-Eyes 7.0 was support for iTunes. Well, guess what? You were correct. iTunes 8 has just been released, and it works very nicely with Window-Eyes 7.0 Beta 3. Even the iTunes store is now completely accessible in Browse Mode. GW Micro and Apple have been working together to increase the accessibility of iTunes, and the latest version of both products proves the success of that collaboration. While there still may be a few quirks here and there, I encourage you to download iTunes 8 (assuming you're running Window-Eyes 7.0 Beta 3), and try it now. Enjoy! Re: another skype question
Hi, Go into the view menu, hit up aro once or twice, when your screen reader says accessibility, hit enter on that. Make sure both of those boxes are checked (keyboard navigation and simplified graphics), and do the following to make sure your volume isn't low: 1. Go to the tools menu by hitting alt t. 2. Press p for options. 3. Go down once, you should hear audio options. Now tab twice until you hear microphone volume: 0 percent. 4. Hit right aro, or more acurately hold it down, jaws will stil say 0 percent but it should be at 100. 5. Tab a few more times until you hear speaker volume. Again, hold down your right aro. By the way, this is a good time to mention it. If let skype control your audio is checked, it really does screw up your audio devices. So I recommend having this unchecked. (With my USB headset, it kept turning the microphone volume down so I kept getting frustrated until I finally realized). It really makes your system go bonkers, some of the time- but for some people can work wonders. Now, tab over to save, and you should be good to go. Also be sure and check in sounds and audio devices to make sure your microphone isn't muted. Make sure its at 100 percent, too- I keep mine there. I'd rather people here me a bit too much than not at all.
