Original message: Does anyone know of a small voice recorder that has folders capability >> and also has the ability to append to a voice recording? Yest! The milestone 311 offers up to ten folders that can be voice tagged. Also has the ability to pause/resume recording. I don't know of any unit that allows you to append to a file after the original file has been recorded. I think one would beed to start a new file then combine the two files if you so wish. I can't find line-in in my recording controls in Goldwave. The only thing I can find which works is Analogue mix. I use that because it doesn't pick up Window-Eyes. Go into the properties of your sound card and choose play. In that dialog, you may find options to check or uncheck what channels play. Make sure line in is unchecked. Also, in the recording properties, make sure line in is checked, not anything called What you Hear or Mixer. I often digitize tapes using Goldwave, in both Xp and Vista, and never hear the tape playing, so the problem can be solved. However, I have to sit and listen to it while this is happening. This is very annoying, especially if I'm trying to get on with work. Is there a way to digitize the tape without having to listen to it? I am using a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS, Goldwave 5.25 and the cassette machine is plugged into the line-in on my soundcard.
