Re: Streaming quality on netbook

2009-03-10 Thread Larry
Hey Marsha. I use Window Eyes and System Access, but with those two screen
readers, it has been my experience that speech can be a bit sluggish when
streaming audio on a netbook. This is with the onboard sound serving both
the stream and synthesized speech, and others who have more experience with
streaming while using speech may have found workarounds. But thus far, for
me, it's been a case of one or the other. Either I stream music or do work
that involves one of my screen readers.

Hi
While I understand that you could not do quality recording on a netbook,
can you stream music and still use Jaws? If so, what is the quality of
both? Thanks for information.

Total Recorder Drivers

2009-03-10 Thread John covici
For XP, you can use either driver -- I would try and see which gives
better results -- but for Vista you must use the
kernel driver -- to change which driver you have, you must reinstall
total recorder. For best results, make total recorder your default
sound device -- doing this will make apps like Windows Media Player
work correctly.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kathy and all,

ther is a pod cast somewhere of a fine fellow I think from the UK where
he reviews the Axux 900x. The pod cast is amazing in that he had
several things going including JAWS, something called Tank Commander
and I think Goldwave while he was recording everything through his
onboard mics. Does anyone know where that pod cast is?

Re: What you hear option not available on asus netbook

2009-03-10 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hello Kathy, to reinstall the correct driver run the Total Recorder
installation program in its original location. In the last part of the
installation, there'll be a series of check boxes, two of which involve the
driver. In this instance you must uncheck the user mode driver and check the
kernel mode driver. I think this is where you went wrong, so hope by doing
this it all works out. Good luck.

installed the demo version of Total Recorder. At some point in my search
through the many menus, submenus, etc., I thought I'd found it and had
checked it as the driver I wanted. Anyway, when I attempt to record using
TR, nothing at all records! Lol! Clearly something is not right. I have
TR as my record and playback device sound should come through. Or should
that be set to total recorder virtual device? Somewher in the TR faq's I
read that if I wanted to install this driver, I'd have to re-install TR
again with that driver, but I couldn't find anywhere on the High Criteria
website where you could know you were getting the driver you wanted. Okay,

Total Recorder Drivers

2009-03-10 Thread djc
Hi Cathy. You do want to choose the user mode driver. I don't even know
what the kernel mode driver does so make sure that one is unchecked. Once
your installed they will walk you through their wizzard and be sure when
you conduct the test to have winamp running with some music. The wizzard
will tell you if it has detected sound. I've used just the standard edition
of total recorder for quite a while and I like it because I can record
midis with it and convert them to mp3's. Good luck and I hope you get it
working.

Hi Kathy and all,

ther is a pod cast somewhere of a fine fellow I think from the UK
where he reviews the Axux 900x. The pod cast is amazing in that he
had several things going including JAWS, something called Tank
Commander and I think Goldwave while he was recording everything

2009-03-10 Thread Jitendra
Hello friends, I am as you know, a new member, We have written some

or not,
We are waiting for the feedback, if this card and driver are the same
what you are looking for, then,

I echo Robert's thoughts belowe. The Delta 24/96 which I use has a small
breakout box, or lead, terminating in a number of phono plugs - or could be
sockets - and the only way to access the SPDIF input/output facility of the
card is via these leads.

As for accessability of the patchbay and mixer and settings, that is good,
and although I'm using Window-Eyes, JFW would obviously have no problems
here. There might be scripts too, but you'd have to search in the usual
places for them.

I think support under Windows 7 Beta is asking a lot. I'm no techy but
driver support tends to come very late on in the pre-release and even after
a release of a new OS. If you really want to know then I'd suggest going to
M-Audio's site.

I'm still using XP Pro for what that's worth.

Ray.

I bought the Delta 1010LT which comes with a bunch of break out cables
rather than a break out box. They are about 6 inches long and hang off the
back of the card. Trying to work out which is an input cable and which is
an output cable is a cause of frustration and aggravation.

The Delta 1010LT has its own applet in Control Panel which consists of 4 or
5 tabs of check boxes and sliders which are, for the most part, accessible
with Jaws.

Hope this helps,

Re: What you hear option not available on asus netbook

2009-03-10 Thread Kathy Szinnyey
Hi, again! Sorry to be such a pest, but I spent yesterday afternoon trying
to determine if I had this user something driver installed or not when I
installed the demo version of Total Recorder.
Okay,
please educate me about this driver thing. Where do I find them and how do
I know I have them installed. I know which one I'm supposed to get since
I'm running XpP home edition. Oh, well, it's a chance to learn some good
basic stuff here, I guess. Thanks so much for your help!

Peace,
Kathy

I've heard that CSI is supposed to be described, or was! But maybe I'll

I'll ditch Comcast and go to ATT Uverse, when it becomes available in

Subject: Re: Descriptive Video on Commercial DVDs and Downloads

Well, they're dependent on the local station to carry or not if the
network makes it available. As for TCM, some movies have it , some do
not and you will have to check that out with TCM's listings which will
indicate which movies have that option. As for CBS, if I did not say it
before, NCIS, Without a Trace, the original CSI, and Criminal Minds used
to have DVS. Your cable system might carry that if the local channel
did.

I can't find it on Comcast, unless I'm not doing something right!
