Ots-AV can do it. Remember, that's the zippy-doo brand-new updated
version of the old Ots DJ, which was the new and improved OtsJuke way
back when.

goes gold.

Re: Los Angeles radio question

2009-05-28 Thread audrey levine

Don,

I live in N.Y. City. The news stations simulcast on the additional
hd channels of their FM "sister" stations. For example, WCBS-AM880
also simulcasts at WCBS-FM101.1 HD2 or 3. The same with WINS-am1010
also simulcasts at WWFS-Fresh102.7 HD2 or 3. KFWB is still
broadcasting on its AM frequency. You need an hd receiver to get the
FM simulcasts.

Hope that answers your question.

Re: Los Angeles radio question

2009-05-28 Thread Guy Mallard

I lived in SoCal for many years and was affiliated with KFWB. I still listen to
it regularly, even though a few years ago they changed their format from music
to news. The reason KNX does this is that they are both accessed through CBS
Player, which you can readily see on the player. KNX, or KCBS, originally
started CBS around 1905, and is still the CBS affiliate in LA. KCBS, Channel 2,
formerly KNXT, is the TV affiliate and KNX the radio affiliate. KFWB is still
on 980 AM but uses the CBS player for its online streaming. I hope this
explanation is not too difficult to understand.

Honestly this is what I've done. I downloaded a huge zip file of lyrics
sorted by artist into folders. Then just hooked up my braille lite to the
computer and turned on windoweyes and read the lyrics in notepad or ie. I
know that's not much but I have been able to do that.
I did hear of someone in Japan or something who is developing some kind of
karaoke machine/software for blind people.

Los Angeles radio question

2009-05-28 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Recently, I was listening to KNX, 1070, and also heard the
station ID KFWB HD2.

Since I do not live in the Los Angeles area, I do not check
this often. However, when I last checked, KFWB was all news
on 980. I realize of course that the HD2 designation
indicates the second of two or more high def radio
frequencies. But, if this is the case, what ever happened
to 980 a.m. and, on what FM frequency is KFWB heard?

Re: Opinions on Good ID3 Tag Editor

Hi, Kelly:

You need both MP3 Tag Studio by Magnus Brading
(http://www.magnusbrading.com) and Florian Heidenreich's
aforementioned MP3Tag, and you need them for two reasons. MP3 Tag
Studio does a couple more things than MP3Tag does, and personally I
like its interface better, but that's more of a Coke vs. Pepsi kind of
choice. The one thing MP3Tag does that MP3TS does not do is search
online databases to fill in information about albums you may not
possess, such as label and cover art images in JPeg format. I also
think, but would not swear to, that Tag Studio is begtter at
case-fixing and operating on file lists than MP3Tag is, or even that
MP3Tag does these things, which I don't recall that it does. I
wouldn't have been able to stay DMCA-compliant in my broadcasting
without the Heidenreich tool, but before I learned how to use that one
correctly, I was a die-hard MP3TS fan, but, as I said at the beginning
of this message, you really do need both programs if you want to be
able to automate tag management as much as is possible to do so.
