yes you need to turn down your microphone volume from the playback side. not
the record side. you have to un mute your microphone from the playback side
and also adjust your output levelfrom there when you are using the what you
here option. it would be better if you used a mixer.

I'm trying to record and have my speech synthesizer come through the
recording along with my microphone. I'm using window-eyes 7.1 with the
dectalk
access 32 software synthesizer, goldwave 5.52, windows xp media edition, and
a

soundblaster sound card.
I'm using the what you hear option in my sound card settings. It's working
fine, but the level of my speech synthesizer is about 15 db louder than my
microphone level. Is there any way I can independently turn down the
synthesizer level to match the mic level?

2009-07-11 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hmm, you're probably better off with a program that directly captures your
sound card. Total Recorder is one program and it does this by installing one
or both virtual drivers that emulates as sound cards to the system. Hope
this helps.

Bruce, if your inquiries have been rewarded with responses, you have
accomplished more than I have managed. During the past couple of years, any
answers regarding this software's accessability, as well as answers to any
other questions that I have posed related to the use of this software have
come from this list.

Re: matching synthesizer volume to mic volume

2009-07-11 Thread Ray
Tim, if I read your question aright, then all you need do with Window-Eyes is
press control-alt-right arrow keys to cycle through screen, keyboard mouse and
all voices, and when you've got to the voice you want to adjust
usecontrol-alt- left arrow to cycle between pitch, tone, rate and volume.
When on volume use control-alt-up-down arrows to adjust volume.

When you've got to the volume setting you want it is best to save the set file
by going into W-E control panel and arrowing down to save in the file menu and
saving the first option in the pull-out exteneded menu which is save set file.
Back out of the file menu with escape and your task should be accomplished.

HTH.

Easy CD-DA Extractor 12.0.1 is now out. I can't find a changelog or
history file on the Website, so I don't know what he's changed.
Certainly no mention is made about improved accessibility, and the last
time I taoked to the author about that he showed a distinct lack of
interest in making his interface fully accessible again. If anyone has a
list of changes, I'd love to read it.
