Yahoo and speech
Hello List! How can I get the latest Yahoo to act like Windows Live Messenger (MSN). I installed the new Yahoo to replace the old version. Now, when I type and press enter, my words are not automatically spoken. Likewise, when my chat friends respond to me, I do not get any fedback from JAWS. I must scroll through the text to know what is there. This was automatic before and it still is in Windows Live zMessenger and Skype. Has something changed about Yahoo 9 to make this different or do I have to check some boxes or something to get speech back? Thanksfor your help. RE: The new NFL Field Pass
This isn't a screen reader issue and system access has the same challenges. This is the way the flash has been created. For the person asking about pre-season games, my understanding is you have to pay $25 for the archives now once the game is over. RE: The new NFL Field Pass
The way I get to the games is to go to the nfl.com web site and then click on the Scores link. There will be a Listen link for any games in progress or in the future. For example, if you go there now, you'll see Listen links for the two Monday night games, but of course they won't do anything yet! BTW, I also noticed that you now have to buy a separate package to get the archives of games that have already finished. I don't have 100% recall, but I believe I could listen to archived games in the past, at least for the current season. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Paul Hutson Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2009 6:29 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: The new NFL Field Pass I am curious about how to get the pre-season games. Re: The new NFL Field Pass
I am curious about how to get the pre-season games. I bought the season field pass and the only one I could find. The only thing I get after loging on and entering my email and password and after launching the field pass by pressing the "launch field pass button" all I get is a screen with NO links at all. Any help or info would be REALLLY appreciated cus I REALLY miss the pre-season games. Thanks in advance...Paul - Original Message - From: "Christopher Chaltain" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2009 5:40 PM Subject: The new NFL Field Pass I just signed up for a new season of the NFL's Field Pass. This subscription allows you to listen to all of the radio broadcasts via the internet of the upcoming NFL season (depending on the package you purchase). I noticed a couple of changes this season. First, it looks like it's now using an embedded flash based player, which is totally inaccessible. I don't see anything in the browser window at all, but I am able to listen to the broadcast. In years past, you've been able to select WMP or Real, and I've been able to use the Winamp with the WMP stream. This allowed me to control the player and do things like pause the broadcast, lower the volume and so on. None of this seems possible in the new player. Note that you can still navigate through the web pages to find the stream you want to listen to, i.e. the Dolphins broadcast of the Monday night preseason game between the Dolphins and the Jaguars. It's just that once you've selected the appropriate stream, you're now stuck in an inaccessible media player. There also doesn't seem to be the 7 day trial period that there's been in the past. I always took advantage of this 7 day free trial to ensure everything was accessible. This year, I had to take it on faith, and unfortunately I was disappointed. I don't plan on asking for my money back, but I did follow the contact link and opened up a ticket with NFL Field Pass. I'm just letting everyone know my experience and wondering if anyone has gotten around this limitation yet. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org No virus found in this incoming message. RE: Question about Subscribing to a Podcast
It doesn't look like my trick will work with this URL. I did a right click on the URL at the bottom of the page and took a look at it's properties. It looks like it's taking you to the iTunes store with a parameter to the specific podcast. Sorry, but as Mike said, iTunes 8 is free and will work with JFW 10 (as well as JFW 8 and JFW 9 with the right patches), so you can always use iTunes to download that podcast as well as others. I figure it's just a matter of time before I have to do the same, but fortunately, I've been able to figure out how to use Winamp to get all of the podcasts I'm interested in. I'm not afraid of iTunes at all, I'm just trying to avoid running another large media library application in addition to Winamp. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Steve Pattison Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2009 4:32 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Question about Subscribing to a Podcast Hi Christopher, I was wondering if you could please have a look at the podcast I mentioned to see if your trick will work to subscribe to this podcast with podcatchers other than iTunes.
