Hello all list members,
I just heard this from: www.dishnetwork.com
in about a month or so, they are releasing a new HD receiver that
has the Sling Box built in to it.
This eliminates the need for a separate Sling Box to be used with
your currant HD receiver.
This is good news for those of us that like to record TV shows
and watch them on our computers.

But don't take my word for it, check it out on the link above.
My best regards.

2010-01-23 Thread Hamit Campos
This is Hamit Campos. Sorry to just jump in here like this since I've only
just joined, but this topic is something I've actually been thinking about.
Especially ever since Comcast digital cable came up on blind cool tech. I've
been wandering, can something like Windows Media Center be used to access
those on demand menus? I just wandered since these boxes have their own
remotes and stuff. But if Media Center can tame the box as it were, this is
a very good option. Well, at least until something is done about the boxes
themselves.
That's all for now, thanks for reading.

2010-01-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Just to be clear, the tax here is that in order to get a phone that
supports Talks or another screen reader, we have to purchase a phone
that requires a data plan. If a sighted person bought the same phone
then they'd have to get the same plan and pay the same amount. It isn't
that you don't get anything for the $25 a month or that sighted people
don't have to pay the same amount. The issue here is that we don't have
a choice to get a phone that doesn't require the data plan.

Re: Gom player an dcapturing.

2010-01-23 Thread Dean Masters
I use JAWS and had a problem fviguring out how to get to the player when the
captuer was open. When the capture is open I couldn't get to the player. I
went to the windows list and saw it listed there but it wouldn't let me to
it there. so I went to the start window and tabbed through to the windows
list then hit the applications key when on the player. I was then able to
mute the program.

It captured all the audio, even all during the time I had muted it. so I
don't know why all of your stream wasn't captured unless there was something
with the internet feed.

Sling box Sling Box recording software by Applian Technologies

2010-01-23 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
I own 2 Sling boxes here. Hooking them up is no issue. The Sling Player
software is used to watch/hear your set top box in another place or state or
country. You need to know how to open ports on your router. Port forwarding.
Sling tech support is no longer free. They charge a fee now so I learned to
do all this over 3 years ago. The Sling hardware box I have is the Classic
and a Sling AV unit. When you connect the Sling hardware via ethernet cable
to your router a setup screen comes up. You need to know the model of your
set top box wheter its cable box or satellite box, the connection type RCA,
S-Video, HDMI. You run some tests like to see if the IR Blaster sensor works
so the Slinbox can changed your terminal box channels. In some parts of this
setup you need to use your JAWS cursor. The recording software is made by
Applian Technologies and not by Sling Media who make the SlingBox. Sling
Media is now owned by Echostar who own Dish Network. I was asked by Applian
to test the Sling recording software over 2 years ago and it works with
JAWS. It allows you to record the signal that's coming into your Slingbox
hardware box. Can record on the fly (right now) or by timer (later time).
This recording software is called At-Large Recorder. I haven't used this
software for over 8 months now as the computer it was running died and
haven't re-installed it on the other computer I have. The makers of the
Sling box do not like users recording the tv signal. These recordings can be
shared on the internet but the video files are huge when left at default
settings.

If you are nerd and good with JAWS it can be done. Takes time and patience.
Plan ahead for this.

Petro

How do I get it to fade in a song before the song that's playing now fades

I'm trying to get Winamp to sound like I'm listening to the radio.

Hello all list members,
I just heard this from: www.dishnetwork.com
in about a month or so, they are releasing a new HD receiver that has
the Sling Box built in to it.
This eliminates the need for a separate Sling Box to be used with your
currant HD receiver.
This is good news for those of us that like to record TV shows and
watch them on our computers.

But don't take my word for it, check it out on the link above.
My best regards.
