Skype Question

2010-03-05 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
Hello all list members,
I am really thinking about joining the family of Skype users.
I don't know how everyone else has their computer configured for this, but I am
still using my old Windows XP machine for this.
But my question is, if I had a studio microphone and a preamp, could I use the
line in jack of my sound card with Skype?
Or, do I need to switch the card from the line in jack to the mike in jack?
Thinks in advance.
  John.

High Tim,
The preamp that I will be using, is a studio mixer that has the phantom
power supply built in to it.

I will be using 2 mikes at the same time to get the stereo affect.
Can this be done with Skype?

Hi DJ,

Thanks for the great suggestion below. It looks like a really nice
program and it looks like it will work well with Window-Eyes

say every5 minutes for convenient skip points for our
members. That's about all I need to be able to do right now. In the
future, I want to produce my own radio broadcast ready sermon
CDs. But that's another subject for sometime later on this summer.

But for now, I could use your help in at least getting me started in
the right direction in understanding Wave Pad fundamentals so I can
better format these weekly sermons for our members. Even if you
refered me to some beginners reading materials that would be
great. The key word here is the word - "beginning".BTW,
all of the sermons are between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours in length.

Again thanks for any help,

Johnny

Hey Doc and all,

Is there a program that I can import an MP3 file into where I can
place "skip-to" markers into? Is it difficult to do for a novice like me?

Thanks,

Johnny

Linksys SPA3102 VOIP adapter

Hi!

Does anyone know how you dial out on the PSTN line rather than a VOIP line with
one of these things? Also, how many VOIP services can be configured on the 3102
and what keypad commands do you use to determine which service provider you
wish to dial out on?

Thanks!

There is a program called GS player which I used frequently when I was a pm

Thank you! I'll chase that up and see how I get on, that's the problem
with this device, it promises so much but when it comes down to it
doesn't deliver very much, you can't even connect it to the internet
when you buy it by default, how good's that! .

High Tim,
The preamp that I will be using, is a studio mixer that has the phantom
power supply built in to it.

I will be using 2 mikes at the same time to get the stereo affect.
Can this be done with Skype?

If you had a preamp and your stueio mic you could use your line in jack.
However if your mic needs
phantom power you can't get it from your sound card. On Fri, 5 Mar 2010

High Vicky,
I never could get that key combo to work for me in any version of Winamp.
What I had to do to bookmark a radio/TV station, is play the stream.
While it's playing, I would pull up the bookmark menu.
Then I would scroll down to where it says, "add currant bookmark" and press
inter on it.
And the bookmark is added!
Hope this helps.
My best regards.
