One thing I have always wondered about with such a system ...

Do you actually get high quality small receivers that you can use with
them?
Il.e. can you then use the system as a pair of wireless headphones
perhaps?

I always had the idea that walkman-style radios are generally of rather
poor

audio quality?

I never knew there even was a write protect tab on SD cards! Using Bing, I
found the following web site
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080118142914AAzkjb3 and
information

(ANS) SD Micro adapters or SD disk's are exactly the same as the old
3.5inch

floppy disks. Every SD disk comes with a tiny write protection switch or
tab.
IF you hold the SD disk in front of you face up with the makers name upper
most.

The write protection tab or notch, should be found on the edge of the disk
near the top. By default when you buy a new SD disk the write protection
is

turned off. And the Tab on the edge should be in the "Up" position, this
means write protection is OFF. Meaning data can be read from the disk &
written
back to the disk, provided its not full up.

IF the notch is pushed into the "down" position then this means that write
protection is enabled (turned on), and thus no data can be written back to
the
disk even if there is enough space remaining.

I hope this helps. I've never done anything with the write protect tab
myself, so I don't know how good these instructions are.

2010-06-27 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I said SD cards. The site I was quoting from said SD disks. If you follow
the link to the site, you'll see that they use the term SD card and SD disk
interchangeably. I looked around a bit, and from what I can tell it looks
like SD disk and SD card refer to the same thing. Is that not the case? Is
an SD disk different from an SD card?

Can he replace those buttons with knobs?

High Tom,
When you first bring up Switch, tab over to where it says, "browse
button."

After you get there, hit either the space bar or the inter key.
After that, it will allow you to place the files in wherever folder
in any place on your computer.
After you've selected the folder you want the files to go in to, just
tab over to the ok button and hit either the space bar or the inter
key and then tab over to the convert button and hit the space bar on
it.

Now, Switch will convert the files and save them in to that folder.
Hope this helps.
My best regards.

High Tom,
When you brought up Switch, When you tab over, you should have saw
something that says, output folder combo box: my documents, 1 of 5,

And as for the inner workings of the file, if you tab over to that

Right there is where the stereo joint stereo and force stereo

Also, tabbing over just once more will get you to the bit rate

Hope this helps.

As for vacuum tubes, I'd assume the particular unit would have to be redesigned
because it's pretty small. Basically no room for tubes inside the case.
However you could ask him about it and see if he has or could build a unit like
that.

I find the C Crane transmitter quite good. There is a mod that is supposed
to make the signal stronger. Mine was a returned unit, so the first buyer

Three other questions if I may. Is there a pot on the transmitter

are

its input connectors RCA or 3.5 mm.?

Thanks for feedback.

Speaker or speakers for iphone!

2010-06-27 Thread Bubba
Hi, I am looking for some speakers or a speaker for the iphone that will
work with the 3gs that has been updated with the new IOS4 OS or that will
work on the new iphone that has just come out. I would like these speakers
or speaker to have a microphone built into it or them. Or have a mic input
on them. They can come with or with out a dock station. They can be
Bluetooth or wired. To get the power I want they more than likely will need
to be powered by AC or Batteries. Any input would be thankful.

Do you like the unit, and would you recommend it to others on the
list? How
much did you pay for it? As Jonathan mentioned in a previous post a
couple
of years ago the unit was a little on the high side as far as pricing
is

concerned, but well worth the money, as these units are well built!

the link is

http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htm

its around $84 USD.

it has menu's but it doesn't speak when placing marks, you just have to
put the marks in and then save the file.

This software won't record the files, you need a tv tuner to record the
mpeg
file then this will edit it.

I can record from my vcr to my tv tuner card.

Once I have a

Have tried
video redo but am having trouble getting it working with jaws.

Soundforge will load the files but won't save after editing.

Any suggestions?

How deep are your pockets? I would think that Dave will have to do a fair
amont of modification to the circuit in order to accomodate tubes! He
will have to mount the circuit board and tube sockets on a newly designed
chassis, and will probably have to house the internal works in a new
case! You will have to weigh the options on this one!

Hello David,
You said that this guy will modify my transmitter for me.
Can he replace those buttons with knobs?
And is there some kind of digital read out window that you have to read?
If so, that won't work for me because I can't see it.
When it comes to audio, I like vacuum tubes in the audio signal path..
Can he put in a pare of 12AX7/ECC83 tubes for me?
Thinks in advance!

You don't have to actually. You can call them or buy it at the
wavemach website. I've found the best way to call them however. The
guy's name is Dave and he is very accommodating in modifying his units
to add buttons. He'll talk to you all day about transmitters also if
you'd like!

The JAWS scripts for Goldwave 5 are developed by Jim Grimsby Jr. and the URL

As for how well Mr. Grimsby's scripts work with GW 5.57 I can't address that
as I have just discovered the release of Version 5.57. The scripts seem to
work OK with Version 5.56, however.

Re: SDHC card question

2010-06-27 Thread Gary Wood
Hi Christopher. Thanks! I thought that's what it might have meant, but I
saw SD disk, so I just thought I'd ask. I hope there was no harm done. I
guess technically, they're about the same size. I don't use SD cards, but
plan sometime to maybe get a Victor Stream. I looked at one of those cards,
and it looks like they're about as long as the cassettes we used to use.
I'd like those HC SD cards. The highest they recommend is a 16 gig card,
but Victor doesn't recommend using a 32 gig, for some reason. Take care!

I said SD cards. The site I was quoting from said SD disks. If you follow
the link to the site, you'll see that they use the term SD card and SD
disk

interchangeably. I looked around a bit, and from what I can tell it looks
like SD disk and SD card refer to the same thing. Is that not the case? Is
an SD disk different from an SD card?

I never knew there even was a write protect tab on SD cards! Using Bing, I
found the following web site
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080118142914AAzkjb3 and
information

(ANS) SD Micro adapters or SD disk's are exactly the same as the old
3.5inch
floppy disks. Every SD disk comes with a tiny write protection switch or
tab.
IF you hold the SD disk in front of you face up with the makers name
upper

most.

The write protection tab or notch, should be found on the edge of the
disk

near the top. By default when you buy a new SD disk the write protection
is
turned off. And the Tab on the edge should be in the "Up" position, this
means write protection is OFF. Meaning data can be read from the disk &
written
back to the disk, provided its not full up.

IF the notch is pushed into the "down" position then this means that
write
protection is enabled (turned on), and thus no data can be written back
to

the
disk even if there is enough space remaining.

I hope this helps. I've never done anything with the write protect tab
myself, so I don't know how good these instructions are.
