tapin radio
Hi folks Just downloaded tapin radio and want to get started with it. When opening the programme, I get an edit field and a few buttons such as play, search, etc. Im not sure exactly how to get started with this thing. I would need to rather urgently do some recordings from radio stations. The interface looks pretty ordinary but when I type something into the enter field and either enter or press space bar on the search field, absolutely nothing happens. Using Jaws 12.0 with windows xp. Is there some kind of tutorial or help file on how to use this programme? Re: tapin radio
I've just started using Tappin Radio myself, so I'm no expert! But here's a few things that might get you going; first of all, what you type into that edit field must be a station that's on Tappin Radio. Once you've found a station, you then can put it into favorites. Then, if you want that station to come up again, you can go to your Favorites list (alt-A) and arrow to that station; then press enter or the space bar and the station will come up! You might want to play with the menus as you may be able to figure out more things; I know that there's a genre thing, but I can't remember off the top of my head exactly how you get to it! But good luck as I think this is a neat little program; I like the fact that you can record a station and still continue to do whatever you want with your computer; your sound card won't get on your recording! RE: tapin radio
Tom This is exactly why I want to use it. I heard from other folks that the station is actually on the list under South Africa. I typed in the name in the edit field and then endered and pressed the space bar on the search button. But nothing doing! Ah well I'll play around with the thing a bit more later. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: 06 August 2011 06:13 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: tapin radio I've just started using Tappin Radio myself, so I'm no expert! studio monitor purchase
Hi folks, I'm looking for a pair of studio monitors, or monitors that can deliver me a flat frequency response, no enhancement of the frequencies so that I can hear the original mix as it was done, for restoration and mastering purchases. I have it narrowed down to two, maybe 3, I'll put all three options below, was wondering what sorts of systems people had and why, whether active or passive, what sort of config they had, room size and setup, things of that nature. I realize that the bottom line comes down to what the individual sees as the ideal setup. I haven't listened to any of them and will of course do so before making my final decision. 1. the neumann kh 120 2. adam audio, a7x 3. the maybe. the blue sky one 2.1 system. I've been talking to the folks at www.vintageking.com and they sell all three setups, the blue sky they weren't too keen on and the adam audio one sounded, according, to this guy, not as natural as the neumann speakers. -- Dave c. bahr To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: studio monitor purchase
Dave, I don't know exactly what kind of restoring you are thinking of doing, but one thing I will throw into the mix is that your goal probably isn't going to be to get the most natural sound from any set of speakers, it is probably going to be to make the sound as close to the original as you can. That means that what is most important is that your speakers can reproduce sound with enough detail so you can hear subtle changes you might be introducing when you apply noise reduction and such. . Of course, if you are making recordings, then the need is different as you will be modifying the sound to make it sound best and it is much more subjective. Re: studio monitor purchase
that's true, they are kind of one in the same in my mind for what I'm doing. that is, to make the sound as natural as I can is to hear the detail that wil aproximate what I think the original may sound like. That's one way to look at it. The other is to say that you want to hear the mix as the mixer intended it, but they kind of overlap too. Am I reading your message right at all? anyone use slacker?
Hi. Does anyone use the slacker web player? I am having a frustrating problem. I am trying to add favorite stations, but when I do it adds the current one I am listening to which is fine, but then I go to another station and try to add it to my favorites and it deletes the last favorite I added and adds the current one. I also use slacker on my Android phone and do not experience this problem, but there is no way to add user-created stations through the mobile app, so I was trying to do it on the web player. If anyone uses slacker and has any suggestions that would be much appreciated. Thank you. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
