Pal Talk

2013-12-02 Thread Peter Scanlon
Does anyone know if a program called Pal Talk is usable with Jaws.
I see that there were scripts for Jaws 6 and 7. However Pal Talk and Jaws have
probably both changed a lot since.
I assume Pal Talk is like Skype.

It sure is. Someone once had scripts for it which made it much easier to
use. I wish they had scripts for the latest version.
But yes, I've used it for a long time either way.

Chat Clients Was Pal Talk

2013-12-02 Thread Dane Trethowan
I have to admit to dumping all the chat software I had except Skype, its usable
and does everything I need. Its more useful now than its ever been thanks to
the Skype integration with Facebook and MSN so - given that most people use
Facebook these days - I have no need whatever for any third party chat clients
or protocols that only few people use.

I have various subscriptions with Skype which make calling phones around the
world and accepting calls from other countries both cheap for me and cheap for
anyone else who wishes to contact me and I'm surprised just how many people
have called my overseas Skype numbers - Hello to you all and thanks! -.

Bluetooth stereo speakers

2013-12-02 Thread Andrea Sherry
From an Australian perspective, is there anything someone can recommend
which won't break the bank? Does a bluetooth device of this sort exist
that contains a radio?

Bought mine for $100.00 but that was quite some time ago.

If that's too expensive then you have cheaper options, you can buy a
Bluetooth adapter if you have a set of computer speakers that have a
line-in for around $20.00.

Re: Bluetooth stereo speakers

2013-12-02 Thread Dane Trethowan
Okay something should be clarified before you rush out and buy a Logitech Boom
Bluetooth set, my model is fairly old and a new one called the Logitech U.E.
Boom has been released and that's twice the price of what I paid for mine, it
does get excellent reviews according to the information I've seen thanks to
Google.

My model is the Squeezebox Boombox and you might find that around somewhere,
note that my model just called the Boombox and not the Mini Boombox.

Thanks for that information.
What it is I want to do is connect with my Nexus 4/ Nexus 7 devices.
Seems like this Bluetooth thing might be the way to do.

Are you wanting Hands-Free speakerphone capabilities? If so then the Logitech
Boom etc won't handle that, they're just for music pretty much.

The logitech speakers will do you fine then.

Don't know where loss of hearing comes into the picture, a Bluetooth
Speakerphone may help but they're highly useful pieces of equipment for anyone
who has a Bluetooth compatible phone.
