RE: using switch
Hi Evan and don These aren't toolbars that switch installs when you install the program but say you are converting a folder with many files in it and some of them are avi, some are mp3 and you are converting avi to mp3 and then lowering the bit rate of the mp3 files, switch seems to pick and install different converters as it goes along, it will use different converters for different file types. Re: total recorder questions
Your problem is a bug and you have to go into your processes and close it manually. I would love a solution -- this happens to me all the time, I just close the program either in the process tree, or with a nice powershell command I found. Then once closed you have to restore your system sounds, if you have them turned off in total recorder. tim cumings wrote: > i'm planning to use it to record calls using gw connect. > > - Original Message - > From: "Christopher Wright" > To: "PC Audio Discussion List" > Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 9:07 PM > Subject: Re: total recorder questions > > > > Hi Tim, > > What are you planning to do with Total Recorder? > > - Original Message - > > From: "tim cumings" > > To: "PC Audio Discussion List" > > Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 8:47 PM > > Subject: total recorder questions > > > > > > I'm running total recorder on a windows xp machine with window-eyes > > 8.4. Yep thanks, sounded pretty much like the Audio 478 Plantronics headsets I have, no big surprises. As for the Podcast? I tried to send this earlier, but I never saw it, so I don't think it made it to the list. I am pasting a message from one of our computer professionals to station Playlist Support. Re: Plantronics Audio 995 Headset
As the review pretty much states, they're not designed for music. 40 feet is a pretty good range so that wouldn't worry me all that much. This headset is only $70 here so its not as though its a really expensive piece of equipment. Not particularly good for music by the sounds of things but for $70 I wouldn't expect it to be, perfectly acceptable for Skype chatting which is really all I want it for and - if the Audio 995 does the job as well as my Audio 478 - I couldn't be happier, I'll know all this time next week for sure! Re: Fission Audio Editor
Yes, that's the way I originally bought Fission, saved quite a bit of money doing things that way. Audio Hijack Pro is an astonishing tool, take command of every aspect of your audio on the computer, hijack it, record it it, redirect it and so on, no audio conflicts to worry about either. There are other applications that do similar things to what Audio Hijack Pro does, I think there's something called Snowtape. RE: Good Headsets To Use With Skype Etc
Hi I have been looking at usb microphones, amazon doesn't have many, I use skype all the time now as my main phone system, I need the pc speakers but either a usb mike or headset with mike would be useful, is there a way for windows to automatically switch between the two without my disconnecting the usb set? Regards Adrien -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Saturday, February 08, 2014 4:58 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Good Headsets To Use With Skype Etc One of my favourite headsets for Skype and similar applications is the Plantronics Audio 478 Headset, I've had my original pair for 2 years and I just bought another. This headset is completely portable coming in its own travel bag, portable it may be but its durable enough to sit on your desk and be used as a main headset for your desktop computer. The headset is a stereo type with quite good sound for the money but certainly not audiophile sound as one would find with something like the Grado SR60I headphones but quite acceptable for Skype and everyday listening. The Audio 478 headset is an on the ear type thus you can hear what's going on around you. The headset employs DSP technology for noise cancelation and signal processing. The microphone of the Audio 478 rotates downwards from the left and can be adjusted once lowered. For a headset of this price the microphone sounds very nice and doesn't exhibit the quality of talking through your nose type sound that some microphones do on these sorts of headsets, I had terrible trouble with a logitech pair in this regard. An inline control panel provides volume, mute and answer/hangup buttons, these buttons can be manipulated through the Plantronics Audio 478 control panel which is a downloadable add-in to Windows, you can customise what the buttons do, a plugin is also available for Skype to allow Skype to take advantage of the answer/hangup capabilities of the Audio 478. The headset is a USB type and the cable is fairly rugged, again a great plus for this headset over the older Logitech pair I owned whose cable started curling and perishing after a very short period of time. The Plantronics Audio 478 in my view is very reasonably priced, I paid $65.00 for my new pair and $70.00 2 years ago when I bought my original pair so the price hasn't changed all that much. The price I paid is in Australia dollars so people living in the U.S. will probably pay quite a bit less. ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 Fax +61397437954
Re: Plantronics Audio 995 Headset
I could understand how that would happen given that the microphone is a moving part, still the headsets are cheap enough and 2 years worth out of it can't be complained about i don't think.
