Maybe it's because Microsoft wants you to use their product. - Original Message - From: ken reed kvreed...@comcast.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, July 07, 2014 2:30 PM Subject: Re: RippingWith CDEX:IsIt No Longer Possible To Have Cdex Title Tracks? Hi , I just installed and used CDEX. I fooled with about two hours because the program would not see my external disk drive. I have since ripped two cd's and it was slow but they got done. Another thing is , the program does not close corectly, and there are messages from microsoft warning you about trouble. It said something about compatibility. One good thing about the program, is that it creates a playlist,k if you want. RE: Cool Edit
Which probably tells us that 3CR is a nickel and dime operation and they may still be using 4 8 6 machines. Cool Edit became Adobe Audition which a lot of broadcasters found too inconvenient. A lot of stations moved to using Macs or moved to Audacity under Windows because of its multi-tracking and range of plug ins. A lot of broadcasters are now using I Pads for studio automation and audio production. One IOS program which seems to be favoured by broadcasters and voice over artists is TwistedWave which, surprisingly, is much more accessible than Garage Band or some of the other audio editors under IOS. Re: Cool Edit
Peter, CoolEdit was purchased by Adobe and became Adobe Audition. Adobe Audition through version 1.5 was pretty much unchanged from the original CoolEdit. Audition 2.0 changed how data was displayed on the screen and became much less accessible. Adobe did build in some other means of getting the information but it requires more scripting to get at it, and in my observation doesn't seem quite as complete but I have not looked at all of this in a while. I had some difficulty installing Audition 1.0 on a Windows 7 64-bit computer, and have not devoted the time to determining how accessible the most recent version of Audition is with the propper scripts or app under Window-eyes. It would be very helpful if someone has really exercised the latest version of Audition to know where the gaps might be as I did like CoolEdit and Audition. Hi. CDEX will rip to Wave or rip to MP3. It will convert from mp3 to wave and wave to mp3. It will also record and save as mp3 or Wave but it doesn't do Og files for any of that, I'm using 1.51. You will need to use Switch or Gold Wave for converting Og files. Re: re soundforge
You can have multiple effects processing sound at one time so you can hear the end effect. Of course, this could result in a log of processing and a computer may have trouble with processing it all in real time. Re: Review: Belkin Bluetooth HD Music Receiver Review:Best design in Digital function - Portable HiFi
Hi! I received this in the post this morning, took me all of ten seconds to install the device. There was nothing special regarding the pairing between the device and my other equipment, as soon as I turned the unit on and set my Bluetooth equipment to search for unpaired devices the Belkin box came up. I'm listening to Music from the iPhone through the Belkin which is connected to the Rotel DAC and it sounds very good. Interesting to note that - when using Voiceover - there's very little delay between the action performed and when Voiceover speaks or gives feedback, one of the best performing Bluetooth devices I've used in this regard. Given that the device is a Bluetooth HD audio device it supports Bluetooth 4.0, I have several devices which support this standard and - whilst these devices are somewhat mor expensive than Bluetooth 2.0 - the sound difference between bluetooth 4.0 and 2.0 is certainly there for one's ears to notice. http://www.portablehifi.com/belkin-bluetooth-hd-music-receiver-reviewbest-design-in-digital-function/ ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane
