RE: I'm new to this list, and I have some Sound Forge questions.

2014-08-24 Thread Tina Wilson
Hi Steve,

All of this stuff is so crazy. I used Jaws 14 tonight instead of Jaws 15
with Sound Forge 11 and Jim Snhowberger's scripts, and the editing worked a
little better, but I still had to keep bringing it back to the spot that I
wanted to edit because when I would use the number arrow keys, it wanted to
bring me right back to the front of the file. It took me almost two hours to
edit a job which probably should have only taken a half hour because it
wasn't that big of a job. So right now, I hate all of this. But I do think
you are right. The sound quality is no different in Sound Forge 11 Pro.

Tina,

Sorry, my question was not very clear. Someone said you should go for Sound
Forge 10 instead of 11, but I upgraded from 10 to 11 and didn't notice
anything that worked worse, so I wondered why the suggestion to go back to
10. You would probably have trouble finding 10. Before Sound Forge 10, I
used an older version, but I think it was perhaps version 6, so I don't know
what features version 8 has. However going from version 6 to 10, I did gain
some integrated capability to create CD's which I have found convenient. As
far as I can tell, though, the general sound and the Noise Reduction plug-in
have not really changed. It could be that you already had some of the
features that I appreciated in version 10 in your version 8, though.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

If you have an https URL change it to http and capture it.
Remove the add blocker addon and re-install it.

Just tried the portable versionand no go still rmc does not capture

the reason i use fire fox is because i can ilimate playing adds with
fire fox and no the add blocker i use does not interfier with captures

This will give us a better idea if its the browser or RMC with the issue.
Also, why not use Internet Explorer browser if RMC has no issues with it?
Run RMC then open your Internet Explorer browser to capture whatever you
need.

Thanks and that is interesting. I've had some unpredictability when trying to
select audio, but it seemed as though I had the same problems with both 10

Does MP3 Tag work with Windows 8.1? If so, how do you install it, and if not, what is a good program to rename files from mp3 tags?

2014-08-24 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi.

Until last week I was a happy user of Mp3 Tag. My Windows 7 laptop decided
to no longer work, and I got a new laptop with Windows 8.1 on it. I tried
to install Mp3 Tag onto it, but I got a message that my PC didn't meet the
minimum requirements. If this program does work on Windows 8.1, where do I
get it and how do I install it? If it doesn't work, can someone recommend a
program to rename files from the mp3 tags?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Brian, A couple of questions. Are you satisfied that fubar 2000 is a good
replacement for Win Amp, would be my first question; since the Win Amp
people, although new people, still don't have Win Amp together? I have been
corresponding with a member of their tech. support team, but have not gotten
results, that Blind people can use. I was trying to repopulate the Media

second, if you are satisfied with Fubar 2000, are you going to sell those
scripts or pass them along? Maybe you could dropbox them, to me or anyone
else who might want to try them? I don't have Fubar 2000 installed yet, but
I think I have the installer in my downloads list, already.

Upon further research, it seems they are stored in a .cfg file which is not
human readable, it is binary. This file also contains other information
relating to Foobar.
So in the end, I created jaws scripts with keyboard shortcuts instead, to
control the functions of Foobar from any application, volume, next/previous
track, and all the things you would expect. This works much better.

second, if you are satisfied with Fubar 2000, are you going to sell those
scripts or pass them along? Maybe you could dropbox them, to me or anyone
else who might want to try them? I don't have Fubar 2000 installed yet, but
I think I have the installer in my downloads list, already.

Thanks,
Mac

Replay Media Catcher 5 & Mozilla Firefox work fine here when capturing.
If you have an https URL change it to http and capture it.
Remove the add blocker addon and re-install it.

for one thing fire fox blocks adds i don't want to capture. also i have
a portable version of fire fox i can try and let you know what happens.
Just tried the portable versionand no go still rmc does not capture
anything i throw at it.
the reason i use fire fox is because i can ilimate playing adds with
fire fox and no the add blocker i use does not interfier with captures
because before it worked like a charm with fire fox.

Subject: I'm new to this list, and I have some Sound Forge questions.

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has used Sound Forge 11 Pro with Windows 7 and
Jaws

15. I seem to have problems with the programs not interacting well, and I
do a lot of recording and editing for my voiceover profession. I am
wondering if someone could tell me which version of Jaws would work best
with Sound Forge 11 Pro.

Thanks.

Tina

well, I think nvda is a better fit for sound forge just because it's quicker
to respond because there aren't any scripts, but I love jaws as well, just
the fact that it has more resources running when editing
