RE: file types with youtube
Seems like you have to have an account in order to upload videos of a certain length to You Tube! I have something I wouldn't mind putting up there myself, but haven't a clue as to how you do it! Re: Audio Enhancements Found In IOS 8
Hi again! the Audio Ducking might be effecting things too when you're using automated phone systems so perhaps - if you're ever using IOS 8 again - you could change that setting, again found in the rotor. Re: Audio Enhancements Found In IOS 8
For everyone's information, the iPhone 5C has the same processing power as the iPhone 5 so its 2 generations behind the 6 but that aside, I'm very glad I didn't experience the problems you outlined with my iPhone 5. The volume of the speech is different but that can be easily fixed by increasing the Voice Volume with the Volume option in the rotor, should make things easier when you're dealing with automated call machines such as banks etc. On 27 Sep 2014, at 3:25 am, Steve Mann wrote: > I tried the original IOS 8 and downgraded back to 7.1.2. Re: Audio Enhancements Found In IOS 8
I tried the original IOS 8 and downgraded back to 7.1.2. I'm using an iPhone 5C and almost all apps had a habit of crashing every few minutes. also, there is this annoying added feature in voice memos that clips sound at times and I couldn't find any way of stopping it from happening. Also, Voiceover's volume is reduced so much during phone calls that it's almost impossible to hear when you need to select numbers to respond to an automation unit such as a bank's automated phone system. I'm hoping they eventually get those bugs fixed, but until they do, I'm sticking with 7.1.2.
All Busy On The Radio Front
Hi! Even though I've been busy over the last few weeks I haven't stopped listening to radio. I bought another set, the Tecsun S2000, this model - though its been around for some time - will be referred to for quite some time to come given its excellent feature set, ease of use and its feel, I'll report on this set in some detail in the not to distant future. My only regret is that radio lovers in the U.S. probably won't be able to lay their hands on one of these lovely portables, the Grundig Satellite 750 is very similar but of poorer quality and cheaper build it seems, there are other differences which I'll outline at the appropriate time. The second big news is the arrival of the Eton Field Radio, I know little of this radio at the present time but I do know of someone who has ordered one and he hopes to have it early next week so I'm most interested to hear his report. From what I do know the design sounds very similar to the CC SW radio which worries me, that radio has all the traits of being a good radio and certainly would have been had the build and quality control been better. The Eton Field radio is available from your local Radio Shack store I'm told. Dane Trethowan's iPhone at +61400494862 has had the privlidge of delivering the above eMail to you.
Audio Enhancements Found In IOS 8
Hi! I reported to the list the arrival of my iPhone 6 and how I was pleasantly surprised at the audio quality of the internal speaker, yes still only one speaker but a very good sounding one at that. You don't need an iPHone 6 to be running the latest operating system which is IOS 8.2 released earlier today, IOS 8.x will work on all models from iPhone 4S and above though some people who use iPhone 4S have reported that the performance of IOS is very sluggish and can crash, IOS worked okay on my iPhone 5 but performance is snappy on the iPhone 6. Anyway that aside there are some interesting enhancements to audio worth the mention and the most obvious is a control to turn "Audio Ducking" on and off, by default this is on. "Audio Ducking" is the effect whereby all other sounds output from the iPhone are reduced in volume whilst Voiceover is speaking, "Audio Ducking" also occurs when you're playing music or listening to radio, watching video etc, if the iPhone sounds an alert such as an incoming eMail or SMS the music is reduced in volume so the alert sound is clearly audible. The effect can be turned off through settings or the user can add the control to the Voiceover Rotor so it is accessible all the time and can be conveniently changed if and when needed. There are many other audio enhancements to be found including many to the onboard Hearing Aid App which makes the iPhone easier to use with many different types of hearing instruments on the market, the hearing aid App can be accessed through the "Accessibility"options under the "General" options in "settings".
