Re: iPad Mini 4 Audio: First Impressions
Sorry but I’m not able to follow your mode of speech in your email . I just priced an iPad Pro 128GB version with Wi-Fi - no facility for cellular data - and in Australian dollars its available for $1400 so probably halve that nearly for the U.S. market. Only me but as things go I think I’d be looking along the iPad Pro line before the Surface Pro and price would be the main factor though I’ve not seen anything around to absolutely recommend the Surface for its audio quality but there’s probably someone on the list who can put us all in the know. > On 27 Nov 2015, at 9:36 AM, hamitcampos wrote: > > Hm yeah maybe. I don’t agree with that actually, I believe the iPad Pro is designed for those who really want more of a Laptop in an iPad. Re: iPad Mini 4 Audio: First Impressions
To be fair I can’t compare the Mini 4 with any other of the devices you’ve mentioned though I’m prepared to bet that you’re probably right on the ball, the Mini 4 isn’t special but its a damn sight better than the iPad III was when I heard that thing over 2 years ago. I don’t have an Android Tablet right at the moment, I had a Nexus 6 I think it was and that sounded reasonable but nothing compared to the Mini 4. If you want to go all the way wit tables then perhaps the iPad Pro might be the thing to listen to with 4 speakers? > On 27 Nov 2015, at 7:09 AM, Mary Otten wrote: > > Have you heard the mini 2 with retina display? Have you heard the mini 2 with retina display? I have one of those, and the sound is ok, but not special. Kindle fire hd 7 of about the same vintage has better sound IMHO. My husband's HTC cell phone has better sound, sadly. But I haven't heard the mini 4. mary
iPad Mini 4 Audio: First Impressions
Speakers in this thing sound very good indeed! The last iPad unit I owned was an iPad III over 2 years ago and I absolutely hated the audio of the speaker in that thing so its pleasantly surprising to me that a smaller unit gives a far superior sound, the iPad 4 Mini has to be heard to be believed. The iPad Mini 4 tablet could easily fill a small room with very reasonable quality type sound, its not a Hi-Fi system I grant you but just a small tablet with incredible sound. ** Those of a positive and enquiring frame of mind will leave the rest of the halfwits in this world behind.

9 HD Starts Transmission This Morning
News for those in Australia. Nine HD on Digital TV Channel 90 officially starts transmission this morning at 5 AM Easter Summer Australian Time. In order to receive the new HD channel you may need to rescan your TV Set, Digital Set Top Box or Digital PVR for channels. Further to this the equipment must be compatible with the new MP4 video encoding that is used. To celebrate the launch of Nine HD viewers will be able to watch the Third Cricket Test Australia V New Zealand live in HD. There’s a bit more to HD TV than just sound. If you have a Surround-Sound system connected to your TV then you can really enjoy the effects as they come from the ground, even hear where the ball is depending on how well the audio is produced and Nine usually do a pretty good job. ** Those of a positive and enquiring frame of mind will leave the rest of the halfwits in this world behind.

RE: re switch
Hi. strictly speaking no, not in the file itself. A 128kbs quality file will always be a 128kbs quality file. You can downgrade from 128kbs but if you do that, you will never get a 128kbs quality again for that file. However what you can do is improve the quality of the reproduction in playback. If you play your music on the PC via a hi-fi system, you can dramatically improve the quality of the sound by using a DAC but they can be expensive, depending on just how much you are willing to pay for better quality. I always play my music from the PC through a DAC as it makes a huge difference. re free switch
hi tom, i have been using the free switch successfully for months. today however, when i went to encoder options, and enter it, instead of finding the usual menus including the place to choose what rate i wanted, i got an offering of five choices, and no mention of rate values. i couldn't go any further as i was informed, that my switch wasn't configured for any of the five, and was asked if i wanted to by the upgrade which i needed to go further. i don't know what has happened, as i used switch alright early this morning. i can't think what has happened. brian.

Why are you increasing the bit rate from 128 to 320? You are not increasing the quality in any way, you will stillhave a file with 128kbs quality but the file will be larger without any increase of quality. RE: re switch
Okay...then I must have gotten incorrect information; it may be "mind over matter" but it seems like files work better and sound better in the VIP Client if they are at a higher bit rate! I figured it did increase the quality of sound; maybe my ear is just telling me the wrong things?
