RE: Which program would be best for playing .flv files?`
Hi, Thanks for your answer regarding the .flv files. However, Is there a way for me to play the files in any of the other programs I already have, as I don't really want to download winamp just for one file type, and I've noticed posts on this list which suggest the latest winamp had problems. Which program would be best for playing .flv files?`
Hi all, I've downloaded some .flv files from utube, but can't get them to play using the latest version of Goldwave. I do have Windows Media Player 11 and also Intervideo Win DVD, but Intervideo Win DVD isn't registered. Would either of the other programs mentioned be able to play the .flv files, or if not, should I Download DVD Audio Extractor and use it to extract the audio from the .flv files? RE: Jaws Goldwave bonks and shutdowns ...
Hi Peter, I'm not a Jaws User myself, or not nowadays at least, however, I believe a friend of mine, Colin Howard, who has in the past been a member of this list, but is not currently a member, has had the problem you describe. I hope you don't mind, but I've forwarded him the message to which I'm now replying and when I spoke to him on the phone just now, he said he was intending to contact you privately with a solution to your problem. RE: Anyone tried the new Kindole 2?
Hi Mac and all, I've noticed people talking about this on another list I subscribe to, (admittedly a UK based list, as I'm in the Uk), but if I'm understanding the discussions on that list correctly, then the new device may not be accessible to blind people as yet. RE: m4p files
Hi Roger, I put the following phrase: converting m4p files to MP3 or wav into Google and lots of hits came up. I'm not musically aware enough to know what an m4p file is, but maybe if you put the same phrase into Google one of the hits will help you. RE: Moving by time in Goldwave?
Hi Ray, I know it is possible to move by time increments in Goldwave, but can't remember exactly what the keystroke is. Just out of interest are you subscribed to any Goldwave related discussion lists? If so, I'm sure that someone on a Goldwave list would be able to answer your question if someone on this list doesn't get in first. Converting an MP3 to m3u or creating a playlist from an MP3 file, are either of these possible?
Hi all, I don't have winamp, but I do have Windows Media Player and Goldwave, and I'm wondering if I can convert an MP3 file I have into a format that will be playable with one of the above programs but yet contain a playlist, or at least, be split intonamed tracks. RE: Is it possible to record a voice recording on a Victor Streamandthen transfer it to the PC to be sent as an MP3
Hi Thank you for your reply, If the Victor Stream has the ability to convert into .wav, all-be-it using an associated program, then I won't have a problem as I am running a windows machine, and I already have the latest version of Goldwave, which I can use to convert any .wav file to Mp3 before sending. Is it possible to record a voice recording on a Victor Stream and then transfer it to the PC to be sent as an MP3
Hi all, I haven't purchased a Victor Stream yet, but one of the reasons I am looking into doing so is that I would be looking to make voice recordings on the Victor Stream which I would then want to transfer to PC and send as MP3 files. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thank you in advance for your replies. Re: some questions about burning CDS with Roxio Easy Media Creator 10
Hi Roger, Thank you for your reply, and the answer to at least one of my questions. The point is however, that while I understand exactly what you are saying, I just think that designers of burning software should allow for the fact that, not everyone burns music and therefore the fields for information in such storage areas as libraries such as the one in Windows Media Player, and also the equivalent area in Roxio, should not be designed with music specific titles like artist and album. some questions about burning CDS with Roxio Easy Media Creator 10
Hi all, I did manage to burn some .wma files onto CD the other day but can't seem to get the same procedure to work today, which has prompted me to ask any list members who use Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 if they can help. As I may have said, what I am trying to burn are files that I have downloaded as .MP3 and then converted into .wma files. They are audio, although they are speech rather than music, and therefore I have a question or two regarding the procedure I need to follow to burn them to CD. 1. Why does Roxio assume that all audio is going to be music, ? Am I correct in thinking that there are no special settings for recording speech tracks to CD? 2. If I want to put just one .wma file on a CD I seem to be having trouble getting the burn process to work even though I have now worked out where the burn button is, because I can't seem to be able to tell whether the process has completed, can anyone help with this either on or off list please. Thank you all in advance. Re: is lightscribe accessible?
Hi Robbie, In answer to your question, I also have an Hp desktop, with a Lightscribe enabled drive. and after reading messages on this thread and taking a look at the web, I have concluded that actual burning of CDS seems to be possible with normal CDs, however, if you are wanting to use Lightscribe to label a CD then you need special Lightscribe disks. Other members of this list may be able to give you further information. Hi Saqib, Thanks for that info. As I said in another reply, I'm copying all audio files to the library in Windows Media Player, and then I will try and burn the two that I need to Audio CD, although, if you could clarify the location of the directory you referred to that would be helpful. Re: problems burning .wma files to CDR disks
Hi all, Sorry to reply to my own message, but I've even tried writing the .wma files to a CDR via the Send Too function in Windows XP and I'm still getting nowhere. When I try to write the files to CD I highlight each file in turn and then press shift F10 on it and select send to from the resulting list. From the list that then appears I select my CD drive, first making sure that the drive contains a CDR. Then Windows Media player opens and then nothing else takes place. So, please can someone tell me where I am going wrong, and send me either on or off list, some step by step instructions taking into account that I use Supernova rather than Jaws as my screen reader. Thank you in advance for any further help anyone can give. Re: problems burning .wma files to CDR disks
Hi abarney, If you are meaning looking at the files in the CD drive, I do have some residual vision and looking at the files shows that they are ready to be transferred to the CD, but the process does not take place as far as I can make out. Hi Saqib, Thanks for that reply. The files get to the CD Drive, but it's the burning to the actual CD where things go wrong. Re: problems burning .wma files to CDR disks
Hi Les, I haven't had this desktop very long, so I'd guess that the problem is not necessarily the burner, particularly as I haven't, as far as I can remember, successfully burned playable CDs since I've had the computer Alexander Shannon Jonathan Mosen List Founder Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
problems burning .wma files to CDR disks
Hi all, I've just joined this list in order to see if any members can assist me in solving the following problem. I'm using a computer running windows XP as its OS which is also loaded with Office XP and Supernova Access Software. I am trying to burn files which have been downloaded to the computer on to CDS to play in a normal CD player. I thought the problem was that I was writing the files to CDRW disks, so I went out and purchased some CDR disks. However before that, I had tried to burn files onto CDRW disks using a trial of Nero burning Rom version 9 and the files had reached the disks although, at that time I was not certain that I was using the wrong disks. When I went to purchase Nero 9, the local PC world only had Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 in stock, so I have purchased that instead. However, even though I have converted the files I wish to put onto CDs from .MP3 to .WMA I can't seem to get them to burn to CDR, when as I said, they used to be able to be written to CDRW but I couldn't play them on a standard CD player. If anyone can work out what I am doing wrong please could you explain. Thank you in advance for any help, and please note that the files I wish to put on CD are files publicly available from the website of the church I attend, and I am recording them with the permission of members of the church purely for personal use.
