podcasting good list of

2005-05-05 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
As I am getting deeper into podcasting, I am being a little more selective.
So attention, Chris Garstad, you gave me a list to subscribe to regarding
podcasters, would you give it to me again? Thanks.
Also, I am sure there are hundreds of good sites for podcast lists, but, is
there perhaps one in general with various choices?
I am not much into hard rock or pods with some what vulgar, but, perhaps music,
technical, or generic interest.
One other item, I would like to get main menu, is that possible, and if so, do
I put in the earl for acbradio, I am sure it must be more exact with the
address.
Thanks

users of Ipodder

2005-05-04 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
I have installed Ipodder, worked a couple of items with success, however, now
I'm stuck.
I followed the prompt when installing to have ipodder install at start up.
My problem now is, how do I get into the programme?
When I try from the sys tray or shortcut on desktop, or under programmes, the
same thing comes up.
Another copy of ipodder is running, raise it, wait, or kill it.
I don't know how to raise it, I can do ok and close it, but, as for wait, I
have waited for overan hour and the same prompt comes up.
What I would like to do is to get into the preferences, but, until I get into
the programme, I'm beat.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

query on ipodder

2005-05-03 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
I trust my enquiry is in order.
I have successfully downloaded and installed ipodder. Great fun so far.
However, as I was downloading some streams, it came to me, "how about
spywareand viruses?"
I have all of the protection, spybot, norton, adaware, ms anti spyware, but,
with the freedom of ipodder, do I have to be more careful, or just the normal
watch of spyware and viruses.
Second question if I may, once the feed has been chosen, are all future streams
automatically downloaded to mydefault folder?
Thanks
Don
Yes, I have read the manual, , but sometimes, items are hard to find.

Hi Chris:
Well, thanks, Sometimes I have too much time on my hands. this will give
me incentive to get the gray matter flowing again.
As a matter of fact, I seem to recall info about this software on main menu,
I'll look it up.
thanks

cast podding

2005-05-02 Thread Don Smith
Hi:

I am not even sure if the subject line is correct, but, I am thinking of
jumping into this new toy.
Looks like there are a multitude of these podcast things.
I have downloaded the what I think is accessible podcast from the abrade web
site.
Can anybody give me the site for this pod thingy?
It is something like webie.org.uk or close.
Next item is there anything better? Ipodding seems a little complicated but, I
am open.

Hi Rob:
You have it. Yes, when I turn off speech, all works ok.
However, now I have to contact my dealer as I had supposedly purchased a
multi channel sound card.
Thanks

simply playing music

2005-04-13 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
Well, from this note you will see I am not an audiophile, but, I do have a
query.
I think I know the answer, but, I'll ask anyhow.
I am using win amp 5.08. Using win eyes and software speech. Lots of memory
and disk space.
However, I cannot play any of my music. I get an error stating I either have a
bad driver or my sound card is not available.
I am using creative oddigy card.
So, is it because I am using software speech and the sound card is tied up, is
that why I cannot play music?
If so, is there an answer?
Thanks for helping a novice when it comes to audio.

Hi:
Ok, thanks to Terry, Bruce and Jim. Very substantial information.
Enough to make my decision. Of course, your info contained items I never
thought of, so, again, thanks.

wireless headphones info

2005-04-07 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
I am thinking of experimenting with wireless headphones. Logitech if I can
find them

Does anybody have anypositive or negative thoughts on this type of head phone.
I assume an antenna will plug into the sound card and perhaps software will
come with it.
Any info appreciated.

windows media version 10

2004-12-30 Thread Don Smith
Hi:
I would like to try windows media version 10, but, as I use win amp as my
default player, I don't want media 10 to take over.
If I install media 10, how do I stop it from being my default player and just
be able to use it when I choose?
Thanks
