Re: Problem with Winamp in Explorer Context Menus

2009-09-28 Thread Mark Matthews

Hi Steve,

Could it be that Winamp is no longer you're default player? If you're set to
display 'Details', check to see if it says 'Winamp Media File' when you
invoke you're Screen Reader's Say Line command.

From the options you're getting upon right clicking a file, it sounds to me

very much like WMP has somehow been assigned the default player application.

It used to be that I could right-click on a folder or file and two of
the choices in the resultant menu would be enqueue or play in Winamp.
No more. Now, the choices are add to Windows Media Player list and
play in Windows Media Player. The other side of this is that in
Winamp Preferences, File types, the checkbox that is labeled Show
Winamp in the context menus in Windows Explorer is permanently
unchecked. I can check it, press Close, immediately reopen
Preferences, and it's gone back to unchecked again. What have I done,
and how is it undone?

TIA

Re: WMP Issue

2009-08-14 Thread Mark Matthews

David and Matt,

Thanks a Mill for this - using the Seek bar indeed accomplished the task.
From looking at the info on the Winamp forum page, the DRM is looking to be
the issue. This doesn't surprise me, as I wasn't even able to acquire the
license initially, where as in WMP it authorised no problem, which set alarm
bells ringing in my mind regarding the Management Rights.

Once again thank you!

Hi Mark,

you could try using the seek slider, which you can quickly move to by
pressing ctrl+tab one or two times. The arrow keys move you by one
twentieth of the track length, and shift + arrow keys move you by one four
hundredth of the track length,

David.

Yes. MP3 gain will normalize ogg files, though I think you have to download
a second piece of software in order to add ogg to the normalizing mix.

Allison,

Are you using version 3.31 of WinMx? To my knowledge, scripts haven't yet
been written for the later version (3.53).

Also, it might be worth checking you have the correct installation path:
c:\documents and settings\username\application data\freedom
scientific\jaws\6.x\settings\enu. Note X is for the exact version of JFW you
have - whether it be 6.0, or .1. HTH

Instructions for burning images with Nero

2005-05-01 Thread Mark Matthews
from hard disk image to CD
or DVD. Ensure that the Write option is checked on before
burning.

4. After burning is complete, you are faced with the usual OK
button to press ENTER on and the same following final options,
so ARROW to and press ENTER on Done or use the shortcut of ALT
D.

Note 1: During many of the adding, analysing and burning steps
above you can usually use your screenreader's read Title Bar hot
key to ascertain the state of burning, etc, completed in
percentage terms.

Note 2: It is a good idea to ensure that you are selecting
sufficient tracks or files for image copying and burning to
completely fill a target CD, e.g. a whole shop-bought music CD,
as you cannot add more tracks later. If you try to add more
tracks to a CD-RW rewritable CD, Nero will advise you that it
must firstly erase the disk before burning a new image to it.

Note 3: Remember, if you only carried out the first two stages
of this process, i.e. turning the image recorder on and copying
the image to hard disk, you will have to use CONTROL R and re-
select your CD-RW drive to return to burning Cds without having
the copy go to the hard disk as an image if this is how you want
to work in future because the standard burning recorder is not
automatically reselected for you.

HI Julie,

Album Wrap extractor is indeed an option for splitting albums with ALBW

However, you can use MP3 direct cut, which to my mind, is much more

Audio problems

2005-04-09 Thread Mark Matthews
Hi List, as you probably can tell I'm a newby here.

Using JFW 6, XP SP 2, and onboard sound card. Recently I've not been able to
obtain any input from my mic. However my screen-reader is heard - together
with me typing apparently. I can varify the former from doing tests in Sound
Recorder. I'm sure I've seen a solution to this kind of scenario before, but
can't for the life of me remember what it was!

My Mic volume is set to 90 %, and the 20 DB boost, and mute checkboxes are
checked and unchecked respectively. Also the mic is inserted properly into
the appropriate socket. Any ideas?
