Certainly, space for play/pause, n for next and P for previous, the cursor
keys in combination with alt and other keys perform different steps when
 cue/reviewing through tracks.

Ok, here's where you'll find a whole heap of documentation on VLC, go to
 the
VLC item in the program group and select documentation, you'll be taken
 to
the VLC documentation web page, I've just downloaded the PDF manual so I'm
 about to plough through that.

Re: Sound Forge audio crackling and popping

2007-08-23 Thread Ted Martin
In nearly all Sound Forge dialogues, you can preview by hitting alt p.
This lets you hear what it will sound like before you commit yourself.
Hit alt p again to stop the preview. While you are listening to the
preview, alt B toggles by-pass on and off, so you can compare what it
sounds like now with what it will sound like when you've finished.

No, what I said was you can now use M#u files in file mergers and
conversions. I.E., you can use an existing M#u file to determine which
 files are converted or merged.

Subject: annoying Winamp behavior

 Hi listers,
Okay, i'm hoping one of you Winamp experts can help me on this.
i have Winamp set for all file type associations and would like to have it
as my default player for CDs. However, when a CD begins to play in Winamp,
the sound seems to cut out for a second, not exactly a skip or a stutter,
but that's the best way to describe it. This occurs in both commercial CDs
and those I have burned for myself and does not seem to have anything to
 do
with multitasking or anything else going on. After this slight hiccup, the
track plays without problems. Since i don't see similar problems with
Windows Media, i'm assuming there may be something about the Winamp
buffering that I need to change but don't know how or where to do this.
 Hope
this makes sense to someone and that there is a fix, since I'd rather use
Winamp than Windows Media for listening to CDs if at all possible. Also,
 is
there a way to tell Winamp to play CD tracks continuously? it seems that
there should be and that I knew it once but have obviously forgotten. Many
 thanks.

 Susan

Hi,
Try the process menu and then time stretch, this will expand or compress
the length of the song, I use w.e. 4.5 and the only edit field that
isnt labled is the final tempo edit box. Note you will have to put in
the current tempo in the dialog as well...hth.
