rechargeable...Will check the manual when I get a chance and will advise.

Does the Sony PCM D50 keep the date and time when you change batteries?
Also, can batteries charge in the machine?

To bad the PCM D50 doesn't set date and time when connected to the computer
or does it? I have Sony Digital Voice Editor software for a Sony voice
recorder. It has an option to update the date and time on compatible
recorders. Sadly, my voice recorder ICD-P620 doesn't have that feature and
looses the time every time I change batteries.

RE: Finding The Listen Link On Station's Website

2008-12-27 Thread Tim Martin
Hi John,

All you need to do is go to the 2nd link on the sight. That is the play
link. It doesn't say listen, but does say something like play. Remember,
it is the 2nd link on the sight.

You will need to create a password.

When the player opens, go to the link that says get a password.

This will open a link that asks for a little information.

Fill in the info and you should be able to play the station.

If you get hung up, let me know on the list and I'll do what I can to help.

I did go through the steps and was able to listen to the station...Does have
some good tunes there.

RE: Using a usb headset with mic

2008-10-28 Thread Tim Martin
Hi John,

Now that I understand what you are trying to do, I believe the question was
answered several posts ago.

Since you need to get the speech sound through your computer sound card
speakers, go to the WE menu by using CTRL back slash.

Press the ALT key and select the letter y for speech synthesizer.

You will need to select the Dec Talk Access 32.

Don't hit enter on it yet.

Once you've selected this synth, tab one time and you should have several
options.

You can make your selection here to tell the speech to come through your
sound card.

After this you should have speech coming out of the computer speakers.

Hope this helps and solves the problem.

Let me know how it goes.

Sincerely,
Tim Martin

Hi Tim,

Well I am getting ready to take an online class which offers
classroom and instructor chat. As it was, I had window-Eyes rooting
through my PC speakers. Wanting to keep this setup, I got a pair of
usb headsets with mic. For me, it would be nice if I could keep WE
coming through my PC speakers and do what chatting I must do through
my headsets.

Thanks,

John

RE: Using a usb headset with mic

2008-10-28 Thread Tim Martin
Hi again John,

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Also, what program are you
using?

It may not be possible to have output on both head phones and external
speakers. If you can stand just using the mic for input, you should be able
to check the options in what ever program you are using and get the output
selected to your soundcard.

Then try and find something like devices. Most programs have the ability to
select different input and output options.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,
Tim Martin

Hey Tim,

Well the headset / microphone has a USB connection. That's why I'm
wondering why I cant have the use of both computer speakers and the
USB headsets at the same time.

Thanks,

John

RE: Using a usb headset with mic

2008-10-26 Thread Tim Martin
Hi John,

If your head phones are plugged in to the head phone jac on your computer,
there really isn't a way to have them both sounding at the same time. Most
computers are set up so that when you plug phones in, the speakers shut off.
If one had a USB soundcard, this might be possible.

Sorry, and I hope this helped.

Tim

Hi again Borris and all,

Well I did get my headset and mic set up for my online classes and
also for Skype. But now my computer speakers are shut off. Isw
there a way to get both my headsets and the computer speakers to work
at the same time?

Thanks much,

John

RE: Creative zen 16GB drive

Thanks for the response.

I wish it was that simple, but it looks as though one must use WMP, and I
really don't like that program.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know what you think.

Again, thanks much.

Tim

Hi, I do not know much about this particular zenstone device but as far
as the others, if it works like my zen, you just plug it in and with
windows it should appear in the my com folder. Just click on the zen
folder device and it should open. You simply begin copying the files from
your audio files wherever they are and go over to the zen and paste them,
it should be that simple.
MMM that is all I know, if it gets more complicated than that, maybe an
expert can tell you more.

JLCs tv is a free service that allows you to watch tv channels on the
internet. The majority of them seem to be outside the USA but within the
USA there are also about 70 to 80 channels available. It seems to work well

with Jaws from the little I've used it.

RE: Equalizing Volume

2008-05-19 Thread Tim Martin
Hi listers,

Is there a way to do a batch volume boost in Sound Forge ver 8? I am trying
to get each of my MP3's to be the same volume. I want to be able to get it
done using a batch process in stead of one at a time.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tim

Hi John,
Do you know where I can pick up a good Sirius radio for my office at a good
price?

Regards,
Tim
