RE: Using two sound cards in XP

2005-10-13 Thread William R. McCann
Hi,

Dancing Dots has documented a strategy for setting up to use two soundcards.
See http://www.dancingdots.com/ctfaq.htm#JFW for the heading that says:
Q: Is it possible to run JFW through my soundcard on my computer while
running my music through my external sound card?

Best wishes from Dancing Dots,
Bill

Hi. Go to options by doing an alt+o key press, followed by p for projects.
Once there, go to the control tab and arrow right once to metrenome. Tab to
the box that says "use midi note" and uncheck it. then just press enter.
You'll have to do the same for all subsequent projects. Cheers!

Re: need recording help!!

2004-10-21 Thread William R. McCann
Hi,

If you use the JAWS screen reader, you might want to consider using Cakewalk
SONAR with our CakeTalking for SONAR scripts. Go to www.DancingDots.com and
click on the CakeTalking link. If you have specific technical questions
please address them to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Regards,
Bill

P.S. To view a brief demo of the latest technology for blind musicians from
Dancing Dots, go to the link below and look for the heading that says:
Dancing Dots Braille Music Tech, LP
http://www.tvworldwide.com/events/csun/040315/

This video presentation has been formatted for both RealPlayer and Windows
Media (high and low bandwidths). It was produced at our exhibit booth at the
CSUN Technology and Persons with Disabilities conference in Los Angeles in
March, 2004. Although I am not especially happy about some of the audio
levels I am told that the video quality is good and I do think this short
piece gives a useful overview of our technology.

If you have technical difficulties accessing the demo, send an E-mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

We also have another online audio-visual demo that actually may be of more
benefit to blind users than sighted as the cameraman engaged to produce the
segment did not understand that it would be important to record the images
on the screen on the laptop PC used!

Dancing Dots Releases CakeTalking for Cakewalk SONAR 3: New Possibilities for Independent Audio Production by the Blind

2004-10-20 Thread William R. McCann
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, USA

Dancing Dots Releases CakeTalking for Cakewalk SONAR 3:
New Possibilities for Independent Audio Production by the Blind

Today Dancing Dots announces the official release of the latest version of
their access solution
for SONAR from Cakewalk Music Software which they call CakeTalking.
SONAR converts your PC into a multi-track, audio production studio.
CakeTalking has two components: a set of scripts that customizes how the
JAWS for Windows screen reader software responds to SONAR's highly graphical
environment and a set of detailed tutorial documents containing hundreds of
pages of tutorial instruction tailored to the needs of the blind user.

Bill McCann, founder and president of Dancing Dots, said: "SONAR 3 and
JAWS 5 were released virtually simultaneously in late 2003. Since that time
we at Dancing Dots have been working with the manufacturers of
these two products to upgrade our CakeTalking for SONAR scripts to work with
them. We thank the people at Cakewalk Music Software and Freedom Scientific
for making the necessary and significant revisions to their own products to
make the release of CakeTalking 3.5 for SONAR 3 a reality. Most of all, we
appreciate the tireless efforts of CakeTalking's creator, David Pinto, for
making it happen."

For further information go to
www.Dancingdots.com/prodesc/CakeTalkingForSONAR.htm. For details of Dancing
Dots' upgrade policy for CakeTalking and SONAR, please visit
www.DancingDots.com/ctsonarup.htm.

Since 1992, Dancing Dots Braille Music Technology has been a pioneer in
software development and innovation for the blind musician. In 1997 Dancing
Dots released its first product, the GOODFEEL Braille Music Translator.
Meantime, the company has expanded its focus to enabling blind musicians to
independently record, edit and print out their musical ideas by means of
specially adapted mainstream software like SONAR and Sibelius. The company
is an authorized distributor for a wide range of assistive technology and
music products with blind and sighted customers throughout the U.S. and 26
other countries. Please visit www.DancingDots.com for further details.

DANCING DOTS

Winner of the 2000 Access Award of the American Foundation for the Blind and
the Tibbetts Award of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Re: External U S B sound card info?

2004-04-17 Thread William R. McCann
Hi,

You asked:
> do these cards offers an accessible configuration panel for blind
> persons?

You will find the M Audio Delta Control Panel by going to Start | Settings |
Control Panel | M Audio Delta H/W

You will find a multi-tab dialog which JAWS reads very well. It shows
Monitor Mixer, Patchbay/Router, Hardware, and About tabs.

I believe someone has also written some useful JAWS scripts for the Delta
cards but cannot give you a link at the moment. Maybe someone else can?

Bill
