Hi Andrew,

There was a very extensive review of Kurzweil (Version 7 I think) on Main
Menu back in 2002. Converting text to mp3 was demonstrated. If you have
trouble in finding the file, I'll give you an exact link to it later.

Cheers,

Hi everybody,

I'm new to this topic, so I hope I ask the correct questions.

Basically, what I am looking for is an accessible and effective way
to convert text or MS Word files into mp3 or wav. I use Open Book
currently, but I imagine there is something out there which would
more adequately

meet

my needs.

Any ideas?

Andrew you can certainly use two sound cards with your Windows XP
system. I've heard of conflicts between two particular Sound Blaster
cards
but I don't remember the details.

Hi Andrew.
Are you using a rewritable CD that you've previously used when you had
nero
on that system? I'm just wondering if you've tried using a brand new
rewritable that hasn't yet been written to at all? Once a rewritable has
been formatted with INCD you won't be able to send more files to it if you
no longer have INCD on your system.

Hello Kevin, Well you don't want me really to go through all that again
, Yes I use the dropdown menu to send folders and files to the F
drive which is the CD copier, I did have Nero Express 5.5 on the system
but
took it off as I couldn't get on with it at all. So I have put Roxio
back
on as this program I find very easy to use, But I still have the INCD
in
the send to option within the dropdown menu and I just cannot remove it
what
so ever from here, Although I've formatted the hard drive yesterday
hoping
that it would of removed it but it didn't do so. So if you can think of
any
thing I haven't done I would be very appreciative of your help.

Re: Removing files from MSCONFIG

2005-03-09 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hello Kevin, Well you don't want me really to go through all that again
, Yes I use the dropdown menu to send folders and files to the F
drive which is the CD copier, I did have Nero Express 5.5 on the system but
took it off as I couldn't get on with it at all. So I have put Roxio back
on as this program I find very easy to use, But I still have the INCD in
the send to option within the dropdown menu and I just cannot remove it what
so ever from here, Although I've formatted the hard drive yesterday hoping
that it would of removed it but it didn't do so. So if you can think of any
thing I haven't done I would be very appreciative of your help.

Hi Andrew.
Before you change msconfig, could you please run through your problem
again
step by step. I thought I saw mention that you were trying to access your
F: CD drive in one of your previous e-mails. Are you sending files to a
CD
on your F: drive? Have you ever used INCD before? INCD is a packet
writing
program that allows you to copy and paste files onto a rewritable CD as if
it were a floppy disk or internal CD drive in windows explorer.

It just seems strange that you see this reference to INCD when you are
trying to access your F: drive and I wondered if you had a rewritable CD
in
there that has been formatted using INCD previously.

2005-03-09 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hello Ron & Rob, Here is some thing that I bet neither of you have come
across before, I reformatted the hard drive yesterday Ok, then I rei
installed the XP home program and then installed Jaws 6, you with me so
far, Ok so now I have reinstalled all the programmes I was using, Bear in
mind that when I formatted the hard drive it took about 4& a half hours,
now here is the strange part, INCD is still on the computer and when I
looked in MSconfig and start up tab Nero and incd were both there, Now how
offen does some thing like this happen to my knowledge never it is
impossible after all the hard drive has just been completely reformatted so
How can some thing like this happen. I am so glad I have a second computer
other wise I couldn't let you two know about this problem. How can you
remove incd from the msconfig start tab, by the way I have been and checked
it all in regedit and any thing to do with these two programmes isn't there
no keys what so ever.

Try one more thing before reformatting.
first check your start up items to see if INCD is starting when you boot up.
reinstall nero,
reboot then check the start up items again.
you dont want nero or INCD to be checked.
then uninstall INCD.
then uninstall Nero.
A couple of years ago, I had Nero & Roxio on my PC working together, but I
had to remove Nero & INCD from the start up items,
because Roxio will not work if INCD is running in the background.

what do I do now?. My answer is a complete format of the

Hello Ron, Yes I know this one, But where the INCD still comes up is in
the file dropdown menu, Like if I am in My documents and want to put a
folder on a cd, then I do ALT F, for file and arrow down to send to and the
second option is INCD, I have checked the system that much I think I know
more about my computer than I've ever known. I just cannot remove it from
the dropdown menu if I could do this then I would be very happy.

If InCD isn't in the system tray and it doesn't in the startup folder then
the only other alternative is to delete it from the Registry (where angels
fear to tread!) If you have a tame sighted technician get him to find and
delete all items in the registry with ahead, nero and InCD. I have resorted
to this in the past when a program has stubbornly refused to uninstall; a
frightening experience!
That's about it.

two sound cards

2005-03-04 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hello All, So I take it that no one can tell me about using two sound
cards. that is different to what I found on the website for this group.
The only reply I got to one of the messages was to be told that my calendar
was showing the wrong month, not what I was looking for. I shall have to
ask myself is it worth belonging to this group as this is the tenth time
\I've asked for help and I know there are members that do know about what
I've been asking but for some unknown reason will not help me. Ok Jeff
before you say any thing to me about this email I am going to unsubscribe as
I cannot see the point of belonging to a group that will not help me.

When I downloaded and installed Gold Wave, a couple of months ago, There
was a note that said that I would need the Lame file. I think I got it
from
the Goldwave site. It puts an icon on the desktop that's called Razor
Lame.
Check around on

Gold wave question

2005-03-03 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hello All, I am just starting to use Gold wave program now so please forgive
me if I ask questions that have been asked before. I am looking for the
LAME file and so far I cannot find it any where so if someone could tell me

Another question is how do I do recording of streaming audio? I am using
WinAmp also for the radio and many other things.

When giving me the instructions please make them as simple to follow as you
can pleas as I am a very slow learner. Regards

2004-12-08 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hi all, I have reduced the speed of the burn to half, and it still want
play in my other computer, so by reducing the speed hasn't done any thing
at all. Sorry Peter but this morning on skype I said I had reduce the
speed by half when I did the CD's for you, I did say that I had turned it
down to a speed of 24, but it wasn't it was 16 speed instead, I just
wish I could sort this out, there isn't another computer in the house that
run the same speed as this one in regarding burning, so I am at a loss.

2004-10-11 Thread andrew Shipp
Hello All, Regarding the crackling on the creative lab cards I personally
don't see what the chat is all about, for I have been using a creative lab
card since the first computer I ever got and even now to this day I do not
get any crakorling on the card and this is a creative lab 5.1 live. However
I am interested in what the difference between the card I've just mentioned
and the Turtle beach of which there has been a tremendous chat about of
recently, so would someone please be so kind as to tell me what the
difference is between these two cards.

Re: Roxio 6 question

2004-05-08 Thread andrew shipp
Hello Peter, so this is the reason why I cannot record this particular CD
album,so just one more question is there such a thing as a bigger CDR?
Other than that I don't know any other way around what I'm trying to do.

hello andrew,

don't forget that the burning process can use upto 25 mb of the disc space
in creating the opening and closing sectors plus the toc.
on an 80 minute cd this means you could loose 2 and a half minutes of
recording time.
