download main menu segments
Hi folks, There was a time when I could download individual articles from ACB radio's Main Menu. I can still stream shows, but can't download them any longer. I'm wonder if the file structure has changed? using jfw 6.0, windows 2000 and RealPlayer. Regards with thanks. Winamp Library
Hi Anita, Have you listened to Dave William's review of Winamp 5.08 on the Main Menu archive? It's a two-part review from last September, which looks in depth at the Winamp library. I'm not very familiar with the program, so I can't answer your question about searching. >From memory though, I think Dave said there's no search button. In other words, once you start typing something into the library's edit field, a search automatically commences based on your criteria. I think this applies if you're online and looking for radio stations. In order to hear the program, you can tgo to www.acbradio.org/mainmenu.html and follow the re-direct link. Then use the find command to look for Winamp. The most recent shows are nearer the top of the page. hope this helps. Regards from a very wet Dublin, Eamonn ** This communication is intended solely for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain privileged and/or other confidential information. large sound file with no audio
Hi folks, I recently recorded a programme from Ireland's national broadcaster RTE from the web, having missed the radio broadcast. I chose wave from the record properties of my volume control, and used sound forge version 6. The programme seemed to record ok and I saw the record meters vary in line with the sound. I saved the programme as a wave file. When I opened the file with sound forge later for playback, it appeared to be empty and no sound was heard. I saw no wave pattern. According to the status line in Sound Forge, the file was 1 hour in length an 900mb in size RTE uses the Realplayer format. If I click on the file, Winamp comes up and I can see the time advance, but again, nothing is heard. Any ideas please?I'm using windows 98. and jaws 3.7. wave to mp3 conversion with Sound Forge or Nero
Hi folks, If using Sound Forge 6 or Nero 5.5 to convert files from wave to mp3, which settings should I use to ensure as little loss as possible? I need to reduce file size as I'm beginning to run out of disk space. nero, file convertion question
Hi folks, I tried to convert some wave files to mp3 using Nero. I'm not sure of the version but it may be 5.5. I got a message that my mp3 pro version had expired. there didn't seem to be any alternative formats to mp3 pro. In the past though, I've had no problems in converting. Ive used sound forge 6.0 to save a wave file to mp3, but find it very slow. What other programs, (preferably free,) will do the job. I also have easy cd creator 4 and winamp 2.7 on my system. I'm using win98 se with jfw 3.7, and have 512mb ram. By the way, where can I get mp3 direct cut, and the associated help files written by a member of this list. I'm afraid I've deleted those emails. Many thanks for advice. nero 5.5 compatibility question
Hi folks, I recently uninstalled an earlier version of nero and installed 5.5 instead. When I tried to burn audio files to a cd-rw disc, I was told that nero was not compatible with my cd-rw Drive. Don't know the model number off-hand, but it's a 4 year old Sony burner on a Dell Dimensions 4100 pc. Question: is cd burning software sometimes specific to particular cd writers? write-protected CD-RW
Hi folks, I tried to copy two files totaling 420MB from my hard drive to a CD-RW disc using easy cd creator version 4. I was told the size of the files exceeded the capacity ofthe cd - it lied!. I then pasted one file totaling 200MB into Easy CD Creator, an began the test process. The test was aborted and a list of errors came up. On seeking more information, I was told the disc was write-protected. So far as I know, it wasn't. How can I check? Regards with thanks. Can't find "what you hear"
Hi folks, I'm using a Dell Dimension 4100 pc with a Creative Labs Soundblaster Live DF80 sound card. I've never found the "what you hear" option in the record properties of the volume control. As a result, I can't record from more than one source at a time. I haven't found a "stereo wide" option either. Any ideas?
