I here so many people say its not accessible anymore. Rubbish. When
you open it, press alt plus f for the menu and from there you can
access everything. Once you choose the type of disk you want, the
project window open and everything there is stil usable.

You hear it because the alt doesn't work and the screen is blank except for
the product name when using review keys. I use the alt key to check for
menus but not alt-f unless I want something specific. Btw, does any version
of this program rip to mp3? Does any version check with a data base to see
if the cd has been entered?

Thanks.

Hello Donald,

Well I downloaded the free vurnaware from their web site. Discovered that the
executable contained a variant, win32 trojan, open-candy.

I couldn't clean the file with nod32. I scrapped it. I'll try the paid version
later, but if there's any add crap in that exe, then they don't get my vusiness.

Speak later.

audio products and service Willfully posting an off-topic message is
strictly prohibited. While it may be considered that one or two
messages that are off topic can't hurt, if everyone on a large list
like this took that approach, we would quickly descend into chaos.
Asking for replies to be sent privately makes no difference.

Some examples of off-topic messages include:

* Virus alerts * Jokes and humor * Advertising items for sale * Test
messages * Non-audio software and hardware

Vulgar language, name calling and other types of flames are strictly

Sometimes a message thread starts with a clearly defined purpose, but
as the discussion develops the subject matter can change. If this
happens, you should take the initiative and change the subject line to
better reflect the subject matter of the thread.

Some people pay by time or volume when they use the Internet. For this
reason, please take care when quoting messages that you're replying
to.

Ideally, keep just enough of the previous message to remind
subscribers about the message to which you're replying, and no more.
Otherwise, one quickly finds a few lines of new text at the beginning
of a message followed by screen after screen of old messages.

If you believe that any of these rules are not being followed, do not
raise this as an issue on the list. Write to the group owner at
pc-audio-ow...@pc-audio.org and express your concern. If you raise
these matters on the group itself, it will generate considerable
off-topic traffic and bad feeling. There is only one moderator. Please
do not post messages asking that a thread stop or accusing someone on
the list of being off topic.

The moderator of the list has the right to remove or restrict anyone
from being able to post to the group as a result of not adhering to
the stated rules.

If you disagree with any of these rules, please unsubscribe now by

Re: Latest version of Burnaware 6 wanted

2014-12-11 Thread Donald L. Roberts

I am having one problem with the Burnaware free program, but I think it is
something
peculiar to my windows 8.1 system, not the program itself. Whenever I go to
burn a data disk, the files themselves are imported just fine. But when I
go to import subdirectories containing files, the subdirectories are empty.
This does not happen on my XP home system nor on my windows 7 home premium
laptop. I emailed David Bailes about this, but he replied that the program
worked fine on his Windows 8 system. Just thought you might want to know.

Could you maybe send me a dropbox link, or something similar to this

Burnaware free question

2014-07-03 Thread Donald L. Roberts
I am using an older version of Burnaware Free as the latest is
completely inaccessible.

When one has loaded all the files into Burnaware and is ready to burn,
when tabbing through the various combo boxes, there is a check box which
gives no indication of its purpose. The screen reader merely says
checked or unchecked, contingent on its status. So just what is this
check box for? I have not done much testing, but I find no change
whatsoever.

Re: Burnaware free question

2014-07-03 Thread Christopher Hallsworth
Amazing. I tried to help the Burnaware support team to make the new
version accessible. After a couple of contacts I heard nothing so
thought nothing about it and they fixed any accessibility bugs at their
end. This doesn't appear to be the case. Such a shame. Hope one answers
your question and sorry for the rant.

All contact
supp...@burnaware.com
and demand their program to be made accessible again. So far I can only
get the file menu working to a degree in version 7. This is not good
enough. I know I should report back but have been too busy to sort this
out right now.

Hi all,

Today I upgraded to BurnAware 7 and found that as so often is the case
they have a new interface that looks visually appealing but it is no
longer possible to navigate the menus using the keyboard. I'm using the
premium edition but this probably applies to all editions. I wrote to
them through their support link on their home page at www.burnaware.com
and I'd suggest anyone else concerned about this issue write to them as
well. You will need to complete a CAPTCHA before sending your message.
For those who don't know BurnAware is a CD burning program for Windows

Update on Burnaware 7

2014-05-15 Thread Christopher Hallsworth

Hello everyone.
Here is what I received from Burnaware support regarding version 7. It
appears they will listen to feedback from the blind community.

Thank you for comment.

Ribbon in BurnAware can be used with hot keys (they listed in Help File).
Except the Main Window, but this will be improved in next release.
I'll try NVDA and think how to resolve this problem.

Please tell me, classic Windows menu will be enough to operate BurnAware 7?

P.S. To revert back to version 6.x, please follow this link:

Burnaware free questions

2013-11-23 Thread Donald L. Roberts
For a couple of years now I have had wonderful results producing audio
CDs and data CDs and DVDs. Recently I had occasion to use the images
portion of burnaware and found that I couldn't figure them out.
Therefore, I am writing to request that anyone familiar with the product
provide step by step instructions as to how to first produce an iso

I'm on the wrong track here, please tell me step by step how to copy an

question about BurnAware

2013-02-22 Thread Brian Olesen
Hi folks,
I have one question for you about BurnAware, which is the coolest cd dvd
burner program I’ve ever seen.

Is it possible to ajust and set your reading and writing speeds, and make
BurnAware remember this setting?
For example I don’t want to read audio disks at full speed as it’s my
experience that it can cause artefacts in some situations.
Also I’d like to decrease the writing speed a little, when burning or copying
disks.

If this is possible then a hint for how it’s acheevable will be highly
apreciated.

Best regards
Brian

2012-08-15 Thread Howard Traxler

Thanks, Clifford, for your response.

I have a string of 30 mp3 files that I'm trying to burn onto a CD for the
car. I've done this acouple times before, so I know it can work. Most of
the files seem OK and are added to the burn list. Some, seemingly random,
get the error message. So I have replaced the files that are in error with
other copies of the same recording and it usually is OK. So I'm wondering
what is wrong with the bad files? They play (using winamp) just fine.
Still would like to know what error 15 meant. There's a contact link on the
burnaware website; so maybe that's my next step.

Re: BurnAware Free error message

2012-08-14 Thread Howard Traxler
Sorry, I messed up. I typed 16 when I meant 15. It's error message fifteen
that I'm concerned with.

Thanks.

Is anyone using BurnAware Free? When selecting tracks to burn to CD, many
of them give me error 15 and says can't burn. Does anybody know what
error 16 means? On their website they have a list of error codes, but 15
isn't on the list.

Thanks, anyone.

Gordon take a look at the beyer dt 290 broadcast headset. It's $239 from
http://www.bswusa.com. It's dynamic so it doesnt need phantom power.

Thanks Tim. You're right - I've just heard from Sennheiser. It's a shame -
they're great on the computer and with my voice recorder etc. Sennheiser
have recommended the HMD 280 dnamic mike or HME 26 + cableX3k1-p48
(phantom powered), both quite expensive. Do you know either of them or any
other which will give broadcast or near broadcast quality for radio work
using a mixer?
Happy to hear from anyone on this.
Thanks again.

They won't work directly into your mixer. They're designed to plug either
into a recorder or
directly into a computer sound card. On Tue, 5 Jul 2011 02:59:16 +0100, G.

Hi
I recently purchased a pair of these Sennheisser PC160 microphone

sound
great when I plug them into my Olympus DM5 and the mike works well.
However

when I plug the mike into my mixer I get absolutely nothing. I have
converters
from 3.5 to the quarto jack, this does not work either. As theyââ,¬â¢re
going

into
the line in socket, I then tried an industry standard mike preamp, still
nothing, just hiss. The signal isnââ,¬â¢t getting through although
adding my

Dm5
into the mix by plugging the mike into it first andd then routing it
through
the mike preamp into the mixer and it does work.
Ideally I wish to use both headset mikes to record interviews through my
mixer
to the computer. I should also say Iââ,¬â¢ve tried a number of
converters from

3.5
to quarto jack, mono and stereo.
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can get a signal into my mixer.
Perhaps
you know of a particular converter/adaptor which will allow the
mikeââ,¬â¢s

great
signal to hit the mixer.
Thanks.

RE: BurnAware Free error message

2012-08-14 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
I don't know the precise number codes, but the free version is limited in what
file types it will automatically convert and burn. What file types are you
trying to burn?
