DVD Burning Issue

2012-11-11 Thread Gary Petraccaro
Two days ago, out of the blue, my dvd drive started taking almost two hours
to make and burn a data dvd. Where I could once start to make a dvd and
count on it being 30 percent through the compare pass, the same time now
only gets me to 15 percent in the write pass. The discs haven't changed.
Is there a way to know if it's the drive?

Thanks.

what i would do is try different dvd media, because even with the same batch
or brand of media there can be changes or bad discs. if you try different
media and it works fine it could be a media problem. but it could also be
the drive is starting to go bad. when drives start to go bad they can burn
slower then before.

Re: DVD Burning Issue

2012-11-11 Thread Andrea Sherry

How old is your burner?
How expensive are burners in your part of the world?
When burners of DVD came on the market here in Australia in the late 90s
they were $5000. Now a burner can be had for about $40.
so if you can change the thing yourself then a new burner might be a
proposition.

Cheers
Andrea

2010-10-05 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I hate to mention this, since I'm sure you've already checked this,
but are you sure you're selecting the right drive? I know on my system,
between the card reader, the printer and so on, I have half a dozen
removable drives listed. I sometimes just have to go through them one at
a time to find out which one has the card or removable drive in it that
I'm looking for.

Are you sure the disk you're inserting doesn't already have something on it?
When I use a disk that turned into a coaster by mistake, I get a similar error.

Well, if it is anything like mine was, the thing finally died on me,
making it necessary to go buy another drive. I replaced it with a USB
cd/cvd drive, and now everything works like a charm.

Winamp CD Burning Issue

2007-01-15 Thread Wes Derby
Okay, I've had an error that's been popping up lately, just all of a sudden the
last few days, and I'm hoping someone here can help. I'm running WinAmp 5.32.
The error is pasted below:
Nullsoft Burner Error
Error during Audio CD burning process.
Library error: The SCSI command sent by the function returned a check condition.
Drive error:Power Calibration Area Is Full

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Winamp Pro, and it hasn't made a
difference.

I looked for info in the Troubleshooting section of Winamp to no avail...I
also tried joining the Winamp Forum, but they have one of those visual
verification things, and unlike many sites, don't appear to have a link for
blind and visually impaired users who can't see the image to be able to get
help...So, so much for that.

Any help on how to correct/get around this problem, or what it actually means,
would be appreciated. Thanks.
