Hi Rusty. Be careful mate! I bought a second hand one from a list which deals with second hand equipment, and was told that the range was very good. I was hoping to read my mail from the garden but could hardly get further than my study doorway. I paid £35. I think that if you wish something to get out of the house, you will have to pay a lot lot more. Good luck though, perhaps you can let us know how you get on. Best wishes. I've got to wonder what the value add of such a one word reply is even if the original note was attached. I've got to admit, I'd just as soon not see it. ditto on the request for files as well. Hi Tom Yes, you simply plug it into your speaker socket. Incidentally, I've got the Veronica fm transmitter and I purchased a special cable which plugs into the speaker socket and has two sockets attached, so I've got both my computer speakers and my hi-fi if I wish. Tom. If you have to go out and buy the y connector, depending upon your set up, you might also want to purchase a cable about 6 feet or longer with stereo male connector on one end and a female stereo connector on the other. My computer tower is on the floor under a long table that holds all sorts of computer equipment. So, I plugged the y connector into where the speakers were. plugged the speakers into one side of the y. in the other I plugged in the male end of the long cable. Then I led the cable up onto the table. Into the female connector now on the table, I plugged in a solid connector with a stereo male connector on one side and two female stereo connectors on the other. Now into that I can plug and unplug the fm transmitter as needed. And I have a spare place, on the table, to plug in anything else, such as a cassette recorder, or anything else you can imagine. Get a y connector to plug into the jack where you have your speaker system plugged. You need two female stereo connectors, coming from one male connector. Of course the male connector will go into where your speakers are now plugged. Plug the speakers into one of the female connectors and plug the FM transmitter into the other. They can both work on the same jack. It works beautifully. Hope this helps. Hello Tom, It sounds like you and I have the same issue. I only have just the one line out or the speaker jack you call it. The solution for me is that I want the speakers to work too so I have to get the "Y" adaptor. It will look like a speaker plug on one end (the male plug) and it will have two female plugs on the other end. This will allow us to have the actual speaker plugged in to one of the female plugs and the trans miter into the other female plug. I haven't gotten my toy yet but I am waiting impatiently for it. If it would, it'd solve a problem as..like I mentioned earlier..the computer doesn't have a "line out"; it just has a "line in!" So does that mean that I must use the speaker jack? Thanks for your help; you may remember..I'm the guy that..a little while back..was looking to find where my jacks were located; I've located themm..but am unsure of where would be the appropriate place to put the FM transmitter! Hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I'll have another computer; one with a bonified soundcard in it! Thanks again.
