2007-06-19 Thread Jim Noseworthy
Hi:

Sorry about that. I had too many zeros in the file name.

Try this:
ftp.compuconference.com/h300_USA_Eng.pdf

If that doesn't work, just go to
ftp.compuconference.com
and browse through the files until you come to the one you want.

Cheers.

Subject: Iriver h340 and Rockbox manual

Hi there!
Having been an Iriver user myself I thought I'd warn people about the
Rockbox manual, this manual is now quite out-of-date as Rockbox has been
enhanced and changes made since the manual was compiled so by all means,
read the manual but also read any release notes pertaining to each build of
Rockbox you download to see exactly what has changed, what is being worked
on etc.
Last time I saw Rockbox for the Iriver for example, support had been added
for Cue sheets and FLAC files, a worthy addition indeed to Rockbox'es many
features. I also know that "time recording" was being bworked on, that is
recording on your Iriver would start and stop at preset times though some
modifications to the Iriver had to be made apparently for this to work
successfully.
There is a "trigger" menu in the recording menu but I didn't read up on this
as none of the options in this menu speak.

Re: Iriver h340 and Rockbox manual

2007-03-24 Thread Dane Trethowan
Ok, suppose you have created a wave and cue file set from EAC or Easy
CD DA Extractor, you can have Rockbox play that cue file associated
with the Wave of FLAC file you created.
a Cue file contains information in text format as to where tracks
start and end on a CD thus Rockbox can act on a single FLAC or Wave
file as if it contained multiple tracks.
You can of course use software such as EAC or Nero to burn Cue andd
Wave files to a CD.

Re: Rockbox and iRiver h340

2007-03-24 Thread Arnaud
no, you opoously don't need to update Rockbox heach time you copy new
files into your player.

for the volume, it's the up / down button of the joystic.

to access the pitch , while playing a file, press a long on the navy button.
this will speak the context menu where you have the pitch option I believe.

the radio is accessed via the regular menu, e.G. on the h340, the a b
repeat button.

Hi!
I'm sure that this will interest those of you who own an Iriver H340
jukebox, I'm told that the hard drive can easily be upgraded from a 40 gig
to an 80 gig, the battery capacity can also be increased and thus the new
capacity can be reflected in Rockbox if you use it by changing the battery
setting in the system options.
I'm told that both battery and hard drive can be easily changed by those who
have a little technical knowledge so people may wish to look into this
further.

Jim! It seems that with the iRiver products that by the time they
become accessible they have been discontinued and only available from iRiver
itself, limited to whatever stock they have leftover.
I would check directly with iRiver for an H320.

Subject: iRiver h340 manual anyone?

Hi There,

If anyone has an electronic version of the iRiver h340GB mp3 player manual,
could you please send it to me? If not, could you tell me where I might be
able to get this manual from. If I could get a text version, that would be
perfect but I don't mind if it is in another computer format as I'll
probably be able to convert it anyway. Thanks in advance,

David Truong

LOOKING FOR IRIVER H340 MANUAL

2005-08-29 Thread Andre Van Deventer
Hi all

I will be purchasing an iriver h340 mp3 player in the very near future.

I have been trying to get hold of the manual in pdf format. I found a copy
through amazon.com, but the file seems to be corrupted.

I also can not ask someone to mail it to me, because the file is simply to
large - about 20 MB. Does someone have a link where I can download the
dcorrect copy.

It can also be skyped to me at
andredbsa

Regards

More info on accessible features of iriver h340

2005-03-16 Thread Don Ball
I find that the remote from the ihp120 works with this player. They say it
is not compatible but it does work. some new functions. old record button
on remote sets repeat function. hold volume for one second puts you in to e
q mode. after the button is released continued presses will rotate the e q
settings. I wonder if you could load the old flash for the 100 series
players to get the old functions? I will not try it but I still wonder?

Is the player smaller then the Archos? The Archos recorder is big for an MP3

Subject: iRiver H340 vs. H140

I'll describe the differences in this message. Anybody who wants to
know, what the H140 is, can listen to my Main Menu review of the iRiver
H100, which is the ten gigabyte version of the H140.

I think that nearly everybody, who likes the 140 will be able to work
with the 340, but there are some important differences.

Because the 340 has a color display, it needs more power, therefore the
display is turned off after a certain amount of time automatically. If
one presses a button on the player while the display is off, nothing
happens, at least if one can't see the display. It's just turned on in
that case. To activate the desired function, one has to press the button
again. This is a bit irritating, but I think I can live with that. One
could set the display to always stay on, but I don't know, how much
quicker the battery then would be flattened. I decided to leave the
setting as it is, at least for the moment. When the player is used with
the AC adapter and when it is off, pressing the play button once won't
always turn it on. The display can proberbly be activated when the
player is off and used with the AC adapter, so one has to press play
twice to actually turn the iRiver on in that case. When one just
activates the display, the player doesn't beep. Only when a function is
executed, a beep can be heard. That's useful.

The 340 has two usb ports on its bottom side. That's because it supports
USB on the go, which PacMate users will already know. I've heard that
the U. S. version of the 340 doesn't support this, but it will proberbly
nevertheless have two USB ports. The right one should be used to connect
the player to a PC.

When one does that, the hard disk turns off and no PC connection is
established. Reason: The player switches to USB charge mode. To
establish the connection, one just presses the play button. The H340
then switches itself on again and is available as an external hard disk.
I switched off USB charging on my player via the menu system, for which I
needed sighted help.

With the H140, one could switch to the tuner by pressing and holding the
play button. On the H340, this has to be done via a second menu. One
presses and holds record, then right, then navi to confirm. Bingo, the
radio can be heard. To go back to the player mode, press and hold
record, then left, then navi, the disk motor can be heard, and one is
back in music mode.

To record, one also uses the second menu. One just presses right twice,
when one is in music player mode, when one then presses navi to confirm,
one is in record standby mode. And if voice monitor is set to on (not
the default), one can hear the internal mic of the player. To switch
recording source, one presses the Repeat a-b button and can then switch
between the sources with left and right, one immediately hears the new
source. So if I've connected an external mic, I can hear it
immediatley, after I selected ext mic as a source.
