Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software
Hello every one out their. I would like to know if any one has been able to get Macromedia Flash players of any kind to interface with there screen reading software? I am asking because I have an on line account, and it requires you to have Macromedia Flash player 8 or higher to axis it. The last few times I tried a flash playerof any kind, I couldn't get it to work with Jaws. Is there a way around this that you know of? Thanks. Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software
This is a pretty nasty problem with both Macro and Adobe Flash players. I use JAWS 8, and still can't get it to work. You might try calling Freedom Scientific if you use Jaws. If you use another screen reader, try calling their tech support. I know that part of the problem is that the player controls are imbedded in the web page, so screen readers can't access the controls. Someone recommended changing some active.exe files, but that required writing a lot of computer scripts and lines into text files, and I didn't feel I was knowledgeable enough to do that, and there was no guarantee it would work anyway. Hello Tom, Read this thred very carefully. By doing so, you will see that this is a problem that blind computer users incounters from time to time. Don't be so quick to shoot a fellow blind person down for trying to get help with a problem like this one. Did you ever try to use a Flash player with Jaws or Window Eyes? If you have, then you understand the problem. If you haven't, then there is no way that you can expeshaly if you're in a situation ware you're told you have to have this thing. That's what this is all about. Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software
John, No, the pc audio list is not about helping blind computer users. It's for anyone who wants to discuss using audio on a computer and only audio on a computer, and that's why it is called pc-audio. Would you go into a grocery store and demand they sell you a computer just because you are a blind person and you just happen to be there? When you subscribed to the pc audio list you received a welcome message with all the guidelines for the list. You were asked to remove yourself from the list if you didn't agree with the guidelines. There are several other lists where general computer questions can be discussed. Frankly, I think you have a very poor attitude as to what you should and should not expect because you are blind. It's a sighted world we live in and if the sighted adapt to us that's great but most of the time it's going to have to be the other way around. ** Message Separator ** Hello Tom, Read this thred very carefully. Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software
Dear Tom, I think you misunderstand me here. I happen to know that Jaws and Window Eyes are 2 diffrend types of software that helps those of us who can't see how to read our computer screens. Now I'm not trying to get in to a fight here, first you should know those of us who don't have eyes that can see, our hand and ears are our eyes. Jaws and Window Eyes are autible software, they make the computer screens talk. Don't take my word for it, ask another blind person about these 2 diffrent kinds of software, see what they say. Cence you happen to know about these other diskussion groops for blind computer users, how about giving me the links to them. I think you have a distorted view about my addatood, I know what this groop is about. And persize, I don't see you going after any one about things like tv tuner cards, whitch is somthing I'm also thinking about. I don't believe I've said anything rong. I have a very strong faith in the Lord God hoom I serve. If I said or done anything rong, he would correct me in a hartbeat. I will say a prayr for you that you will be a little more understanding then you are. If any of us happen to be in the rong place seaking help witha persific problem and if you know whare we can go to get that help, then by all means, please tell us by giving us the links to these sights. Not all of us know whare to look for the kind of help we need, so a lot of us stick to what we know. So please tell me, whare is the harm in that? - Original Message - From: Tom [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2007 5:16 PM Subject: Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software John, No, the pc audio list is not about helping blind computer users.
