I've never really heard a definitive answer for that one; all I know is: people used to do it all the time (played their records on the talking book machines)..now it might be a thing where..the needles were bigger..and the grooves in the old talking book records were bigger; I don't know for sure..but oh yeah..playing record albums on talking book machines was a practice that people did a lot! But I'm fairly certain that..if one had talked with their librarian..I'm sure they would have said "Oh no; you're not supposed to play records on these machines!" That is only necessary if you put NLS books on the cartridge, along with mp3 files. earlier, Robert doc Wright, wrote: don't forget to remind her about creating the "audio+podcasts" folder on the cartridge. - Original Message - From: "DJ DOCTOR P" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2010 9:30 PM Subject: Re: Putting books on cartrage. Putting books on cartrage.
Is it so, that some kinds of USB thumb drives and such don't work on the NLS player? I have a coby mp3 player that is, in effect, just a thumb drive that happens to have mp3 playing bardware/firmware built-in. When I plug it into the side plug on the nls player, the player beeps and nothing else happens. Wonder if I put the stuff on it wrong or maybe it's just not gonna work? Thanks.
