Re: Free Audio And Video Converter And Editor?

2008-10-16 Thread Rays Home

Surely the site Anything but an IPod has been mentioned,
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/

But mention it because for those who aren't necessarily into IPods then here
you will find reviews of players accessories and software which, though not
written from an accessability standpoint could nonetheless be useful.

Size of market must be a crucial factor in selling scripts and making the
price higher if some realistic income is going to be earned. Mind, I don't
think Brian Hartgen does itpurely for the money; I'm sure he gets
satisfaction from a job well done too. He also provides some on-line
information and less detailed reviews free of charge via his own site or T
and T who he works for. So private enterprise isn't always a totally
separate thing from public spiritedness.

Cheers,
Ray.

The free audio converter I use is Switch from
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html. It comes with a trial period
after which some of the features are disabled. The sound conversions I do,
such as WMV to MP3 for example, still work in the free version even after
the trial period. I'm not sure what conversion you're looking for, but you
could check out the web site and the help pages to find out what file
conversions are supported.

The only free sound editor I know is Audacity from
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/. I don't use it myself, so I
can't say any more about it, other than it's come up on blind related
links, so I'm assuming it's at least somewhat accessible.

Okay, for me it's nice to mention all softwares whether they are freeware,
shareware or commercial.

Now, how about video editor and converter? Just mention everything.

I've used it before. I found it easy to use and accessible. It isn't free,
which is why I didn't mention it in my first note, but it is cheaper than
Soundforge, which I've never used. I'ts my understanding that both
Goldwave and Soundforged are acessible.
