Scary and frustrating for those who have that problem.

Sure! You think Freedom science fiction or gwMicrobe would stop to think
about us blind techies every now and then. How independent can we be if
we're forced to wait for someone with sight when your system stops before
windows has completed booting. or are they telling us that that realm is

Along with Freedom box there is another program called system access that is
suppose to be a different type of screen reader. Since screen reading
programs use audio features it would seem approapriate. Or is this list
strictly for music and those things that pertain to music?

Doc,

Please explain to me and the rest of the list how reading the
BIOS on a computer relates to PC audio? Also, what does the
subject of this message have to do with the text?

When people subscribe to an e-mail list devoted to a specific
subject most of the subscribers don't want to receive
messages not related to the list topic.

Please have consideration for the hundreds of list members
who subscribe to a list for a particular purpose.

Thanks,

Tom

I found out by accident that the Freedom Box has a U3
application that works on U3 smart drives - flash drives. I
installed it earlier today. Are any of you using this Freedom
Box on a U3 drive? What's your experience? I will let you know
soon my experience. I need to go to Freedom Box's website to
read up what they have there. I like to be prepared and don't
 rush into things.

Basically you can stick in the U3 smart drive into any PC or
laptop and run Freedom Box and have speech and more. I have
other applications like Winamp, Skype, NetZero VOIP and some
others and all are 3 apps. Petro

Yes, physically u3 Smart Drives look exactly like a thumb drive and is
inserted into a USB port. However it is more than a storge media as
programs written for the u3 can be launched from the Smart Drive, when
removed no traces are left behind, and work done using the u3 smart drive
goes with you to the next Window XP computer you plug it into.

I will mention that I use Freedom box and System Access regularly on a U3
smart drive, and the combination is fabulous.
System Access gives you instant access to any modern PC in a matter of
seconds, , and of course you have your U3 applications such as Winamp,
Skype, and others, that are instnantly accessible as well.
