So far, Jonathan, not much. The price may be the issue, though, as I think Station Playlist, even at its cheapest, is still over fifty dollars. Personally, I like my control even more bare-bones, so I just put everything together with Sound Forge. That way I control the mix timings. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Hi Steve, I'd be interested in your take on what Castblaster can do for blind people that Station Playlist Studio in conjunction with a recording package cannot. I'll ask CastBlaster Mike about this one. It's a countdown timer that should be there for every recording you insert, whether it's one of the 48 carts or a ten-minute interview file. Apparently there's a bar graph which indicates completeness of the recording, as well as a graphic symbol which changes from a diamond to something else when it's getting on to the end of the dropped-in file. I learned of all of this when listening to the sound track of the Flash presentation about CB. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Hi Steve, Well, the record option in the menu bar does include a timer that is accessible, but this is not the countdown timer you're talking about in this case. I'll ask CastBlaster Mike about this one. Thanks. Darrell Shandrow - Shandrow Communications! Technology consultant/instructor, network/systems administrator! A+, CSSA, Network+! Hi Steve, I haven't found that I miss that icon. I just make sure I know my inserted material before I start recording a show. I thus play things like that by ear. All the same, I definitely do not consider myself to be anything close to a professional broadcaster, so this is probably more important in that context. Darrell Shandrow - Shandrow Communications! Hi Steve, There are a few accessibility things in the Edit tab that never got addressed, the peak levels aren't accessible (though there is an audible clip indicator feature) and there are concerns about a lot of unmet accessibility pledges on the part of Podshow, the owners of the CastBlaster product. No offense to CastBlaster Mike in this regard, as I know he has personally invested a great deal of time and energy in to making CastBlaster accessible. Darrell Shandrow - Shandrow Communications! They don't, but anything works to play out and use anything else to record. I heard of a service called autopodcaster that would podcast whatever you send to shoutcast. - Original Message - From: "Darrell Shandrow" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Hi Steve, Yes. CastBlaster isn't perfect, but it does work reasonably well, especially from an accessibility point of view. The program is full of keyboard shortcuts, a menu bar was added along with standard tab controls and other similarly accessible features. Try the trial version for yourself. Hi Brent, I'm not sure about Station Playlist Studio. It has been awhile since I experimented with that. Maybe I should check it out. Didn't think they had anything for podcasters yet. I wonder too! Can it record Skype?
