It will not play OGG or WMA. It comes with 64 MB of memory, but cards of up to 2 gigabytes are available for anything from $10 to $160 or so. I've seen 2 GB cards for around $140, but this has been on special. It uses compact flash memory. I think that answers all your question. I wouldn't use the recording features of the machine, BTW, for anything more than notes or short memos that don't have to be of high quality. If you want a good recorder, you should probably get the Archos or Iriver mainstream MP3 players, but these won't play books from Bookshare, Audible, or NLS. HTH. that's correct. Just for short memos, like a phone number or some other fact you'll transfer to computer later. Otherwise, the book port is great. But chriss also wants to record as well as play. RE: Portable Audio Player
Hi, Kris. Have a look at the Bookport http://sun1.aph.org/tech/bp_info.htm It will record audio, though with a low quality microphone, and play books from Audible, BookShare and NLS; It'll also play mp3, though the only other type of music files it plays are WAV. HTH.
