Re: headphones adaptor
Yes, it's possible that each of the input devices might see each other as a short, or at least having unacceptably high resistance. Even if only one is on at a time, the resistance of the out-put of the unused device may be too high. I've seen little amplifier chips cooked this way as they are often configured as a current pump and will over-heat. I've also seen the rules broken and every thing work fine. So you're on your own. Re: headphones adaptor
A problem could be that the output of one device could bleed into the other device. I don't know how serious that is but it really depends on a lot of factors. - Original Message - From: "Bruce Toews" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Kevin! Connecting more than one audio source to one pair of headphones is certainly possible and your local electronics supply ought to be able to fix you up. I don't know that what you're looking for has a particular name but an Audio Mixer would certainly do the job. An Audio Mixer can be had in the United States for as little as £20. Re: headphones adaptor
So you want to connect headphones to two devices. I would go to radioshack or some other electronic store and see if they have a Y cable with a female connector going to two mail connectors. If your headset is stereo, then all said connectors must be stereo. Some time ago I bought a little box from The American Printing House called a listening post. It has four jacks into which you can plug four tape or other players. Then there's another single jack into which you plug headphones, or, I think that jack will work both directions. I know I can record to four cassette recorders at once. But it's only monaural. But I think the Y cable described above would work for you if you can find one or have someone build you one.
