Because Samsung makes an Android phone, and I don't prefer to use this kind of phone. - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, June 08, 2014 7:16 AM Subject: Re: TV Question? I have a Samsung TV here, its one of the cheaper 19 inch TV'S and I've had no trouble using it, has self voicing menus. Sorry, I don't follow your reasoning here, what has a Samsung TV got to do with an Android phone? Are you saying that just because Samsung make an Android phone you can't use a Samsung washing machine? Anyway that aside, the design of the TV is very simple, has a USB port which accepts multi media - audio and video -, a HDMI port for input from a HDMI device such as an Apple TV, the output of a surround-sound receiver etc. The remote control - though rather large - is easy to get around and there are Braille signs for the main buttons, a V for volume up/down, c for channel up/down and so forth, perhaps people may find these markings of use when getting around the controller. As for operating systems the Television uses? It uses a version of LYNUX as I understand it but that's really not the issue, so long as the Television can be used then who cares! what the inderlying operating system is. I've had this TV for 3 years now, actually thinking of upgrading to something larger as I may have explained some time ago, Television cost me $150 which I thought - even 3 years ago - was a give away price. As for Smart Phones working with your TV? My TV doesn't have anything at all to do with any Smart Phone, its just a conventional type of Television with a remote control unit, if you want Smart Phone functionality then you can plug in an extra device such as a Chromecast etc. There might be a way you can connect a Smart Phone to the USB port for some sort of control or perhaps playing back media files stored on that device, this is something I've not played with yet. Re: tv question
don't need satelite. Just make sure you patch the RCA cables from the output of the vcr to the input of your stereo. We haven't got satelite yet, we're still receiving UHF or whatever type of signals the old analog tv is. I've got a question. We've got the main antenna box downstairs. We've got a cable running up to my room, where it's plugged into my fairly new VCR DVD combo. It's using the old cables, the ones you find in stereos for the FM antenna, can't remember the name, not RCA though. From there, that same type of connection leads up to my tv where the video and sound are played. I've got a question. My tv doesn't have a headphone plug anywhere, and i want to run voyager through my stereo. Is there a way to do this? the vcr has a couple of jacks set in the front and a group of three three and two RCA jacks vertically on the back. Do I have to wait till I get satelite and patch the RCA cables to my stereo, or is there some way or feature i should look for to put tv through my stereo instead of my crappy tv. RE: tv question
It's called a RF signal and has nothing to do with what you want to do. What you have to do is take the audio signal from your TV. On newer TV's there are usually output female RCA plugs on the back, left and right audio and composite video. These are all color coded, red and white for the audio and yellow for the video. You need to hook up to your output terminals on the TV or VCR or DVD player or whatever you want to use. On some TV's you have to go through menus to turn the output jacks on. If your TV doesn't have jacks on the back then use your VCR. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brandon Hicks Sent: Tuesday, June 06, 2006 7:06 PM To: PC audio discussion list. Re: tv question
hi rick just because i'm not sure if the current output is sent as data to the tv and converted there or converted on the vcr. i know i can use the RCA jack with movies, i'm just not sure about tv. with satelite, it'll be a direct transfer instead of being piped through all these sources.
