RE: sound forge 7 - mixing two sounds together
If you are using Sound Forge, just use the mix paste feature. All you have to do is select all the data in one file, coppy it to the clip board, than instead of just simpley pasting it into the other file, you mix paste it. Too bad FS doesn't sell the Forging ahead tutorial Jonathan Mozen did because he really explains it there. Heck, he even does it. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Alexandra Grünauer Sent: Monday, May 23, 2011 7:16 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: sound forge 7 - mixing two sounds together Hi list, I urgently need your help. Re: Sound Forge 7 upgrade to 10 pro
Hello, especially if you're running SF with Jim's extra scripts for Jaws, you'll still be enjoying great functionality. I believe that version 8 was the first one to introduce the shuttle controls, which run the audio file at a faster speed, which is different from Jim's scrubbing function. I use the SF function extensively, most when I'm near a point I want to mark, and I want to move back half a second and stop. I use the audio itself to gauge this. Anyhow, there are many features which have been added since Sound Forge version seven, but I just can't remember all of them. I've been a user of SF since version 4.5. I believe I even heard of another user who has been using version 6 on Windows 7, so you may decide to stay at that version. I'd personally upgrade to be current though, if you can manage it. You need to use the arrow keys. Up and down alter the zoom level which determines how far you move with the left and right arrows, when navigating the file. Control left/right arrow moves you to the next marker, if I am remembering rightly. I'm pretty sure you use tab to select, just like you would in Word. RE: sound forge 7
I use sound forge 7 on a regular basis. Simply press M to set a marker. control left and right arrows moves from marker to marker.Control-shift right/left arrow keys will select to the next or previous marker. I'm not aware of being able to move markers in SF. think you have to create a new marker with control-M again to have a marker at a new position. Ray. Baby Fire Ray, I am ripping talking tape books that I get from the Seattle talking book and brail library. Here is what you do using sound forage and a normal speed tape player. 1 Open a new window set the sample rate to 88200, 16 bit depth stereo. 2 Make sure that the tape player is playing in stereo. 3 Record the tape. 4 After recording do a select all . 5 Tap this will select the left channal. 6 copy the left channel to the clip board. 7 open a new windo 88200, 16 mono. 8 copy to the new window. 9 Set the sample rate to 44100 bit 16 depth. 10 Check the check box that sez set the sample rate only do not re sample. 11 save the file. 12 Now do the same for the right channel. 12 You will need to reverse the right channel. This could be caused by a bug in Sound Forge 7.0 which has been fixed in 7.0a. Here is a quote from the information about bug fixes in in Sound Forge 7.0a: A bug that could cause CPU utilization to reach 100% during normal playback has been fixed.
